What did you get in the mail, 2022?

Got an FG Ti in the mail today and I can’t believe how similar it is to the anglam zero. If you had told me this was another anglam variant I would have believed it.

Plastic Fulvia. This one of the best all plastic yoyos I’ve ever thrown. Glass smooth, surprisingly good for grinds, and lovely to look at. It succeeds on the performance aspect without having the heavy weight and “thump” of many performance orientated plastics.

Best plastic of 2022. Don’t sleep on it. It grinds, it finger spins, it’s glass smooth. Good weight. 100% worth it. I want 4 more :star_struck:

God my Yoyofriends surprise box last weekend. But don’t want to spoil the unreleased two yoyos for whoever hasn’t gotten their yet.

Dang this is the yoyofactory quality i remember from back in the 07-09 888 days.

Phenomenal Job on these YYF. Dead smooth even with the hubs.

This just isn’t a functional yoyo.

@Glenacius_K Have you actually tried one?
The knuckleYo is very functional, takes effort and practice. There are a few videos on ig of players throwing combos with it. My Braintwister and side style is coming along and my binds are much more consistent. It’s definitely a challenging yoyo but it’s 100% functional.
Every micro yoyo out there are extremely challenging, but i would not call them non functional.

dylan K reviewing the knuckleYo… looks functional here.

You’re probably right that I shouldn’t make that judgement until I’ve played it. I’m simply going by design alone. I just can’t see anyone doing much with it. The string wrap alone looks too much for the walls. I did watch a review on it and it the reviewer basically suggested its a fun novelty. That I can believe.

Finally is arrived my One Drop mystery box after an hard overseas travel and strike of the postal service, I think I have been a good boy because I get a Free solo and a Thorn!

I did wanted so much try the Free Solo but it was out all over Europe (and I have to stop buying yoyos now for all 2023 lol) and the Thorn is a very nice addition (I was scared to get the Aitch and the Fat tire which are the only One Drop I have) but I have been lucky.

I remember a post about the One Drop yoyos not being “fine” for competition, I have to disagree I think the Free solo is perfectly fine for a competition setting (I do like it a lot) it’s agile, stable and powerful, feels also nice on the string.

I have to say that I am not fond of the One Drop bearing, it is indeed outdated in my opinion with a centre trac bearing the yoyo perform so much better, the response system is more then fine in those models!

The Thorn is a very weird one in a nice way, I did not had yoyo in this shape and is quite fun to use, perform very well and seems to have quite a rotational power, I did get a second to get used to it, the rims are slim, I did enjoy it on the string and also in quite hard tricks.

With both of them did not had any issue in slacks, whips, the gap is more than fine in both of them.

As always a praise for the quality of One Drop yoyos, they really feel quality and I like the way they finish their yoyos and the feeling in the hands, a pleasure to throw!

I got both of those this year, and I completely agree—they are super good! I also didn’t think I’d like the Thorn, but after a while, I realized I was reaching for it a lot! That purple is awesome! I was about to get a Top Deck in it before I changed my mind and got grey instead. Definitely a great mystery box!

The thorn took me couple of throws (and bearing change) before start to appreciate it fully, also because is a shape that I haven’ t played before (I am quite boring about yoyo shape and I like really specific stuff), it’s fun when I want to play something different than my usual, I do really appreciate it also performance wise, it is a good yoyo able to keep with harder tricks and a bit more frenetic play (not great for horizontal for what I tried yesterday).

The free solo it is more on my “usual” line of play and I do loved it, very good yoyo able to do every type of trick (again, after change the bearing), the purple is beautiful, I have a Fat tire in the same purple and looks great.

As said in the previous post I can really feel the quality when I throw One Drop, for sure all the ones I have (and my dream to posses some One drops is fullfilled) I will never sell them, probably I will add some more but only if I really really like them.
