The thing I find with the Cadence is that everyone touts it as a competition yoyo, but it’s more like a “fun” competition yoyo. It has more feel and tendency to tilt compared with more straight up performance yoyos, but it has a unique kind of soul feel to it. This is why I think it is hot or miss with people. I like both versions, with the ES being much better performance, but the OG is fun to throw too. Knowing your preferences, you probably wouldn’t like it.
Kieran himself does not appear to think that, at least not anymore (he played a Statement at US Nats this year).
Thanks for the input, at this point I’ll take any excuse to take a yo-yo off my radar.
Yea, that was surprising to me when I noticed he didn’t compete with the ES. I’ve never viewed it as particularly good at that despite playing fast (it lacks stability). The new one spins much longer though, I remember our convo before how the OG doesn’t have a very long spin time. I can understand why Kieran moved on from the ES in competition though. That said, I still love it and it is still one of my favorite yoyos. I love the size and how nimble it can be.
I want
Is this something you created?
It is. Nameless as yet.
How about The Throwback? Though I’m sure that name’s gotta be taken already?
Not bad, but I want to call it something like ‘Tea and Biscuits’ lol. But not that exactly.
Do you have a profile shot?
That looks so lovely!
Looks good! I need to go find your shots of the schmooved yoyo you posted recently
