That Blue is awesome.
Thanks brother!
I’m waffling on the Cadence since I’ve seen so many contradictory things said about it. I can’t seem to find any consistency in people’s evaluations so it’s hard for me to commit to prioritizing snagging one.
Honestly man, the first time I tried one I was super meh about it. It wasn’t until after I played the Statement that I decided to give the Cadence a second chance. For whatever reason, I loved it the second time around! That led me to try the ES version, which I’m an even larger fan of.
I think it’s kinda a weird one; people seem to either love it or hate it. You can find an OG Cadence for pretty cheap on the bst, so it might be worth a nod one of these days.
It’s pretty rim weighted though, the ES even more so. I know that’s not necessarily your cup of tea, so I wanted to make sure it was noted.
Unpopular opinion: Recess Charm is the best version of Cadence
I would love to put some of them on but not when shipping is $25. I will just stick to strings I can afford and can actually buy over here.
I thought the Charm was kinda meh. It’s good for 5A though
Yeah, same here. The Charm is perfectly competent, but nothing special IMO. A bit wide for my tastes, actually. I have a Fire Island Charm I need to sell/trade.
Top Deck that @codinghorror gave me when I first joined the forums.
Yeah, I don’t like wide stuff, it feels awkward and doesn’t spin as long.
Spin time isn’t really dependent on width as long as the gap is designed to keep the string away from the walls. The rim weight and bearing quality are also very important.
Decided to grab a classic butterfly at Walgreens the other day. I had never liked them before, but they are actually quite competent. Really fun for stalls and kick flips.
Current rotation, with the Breeze getting the most play cuz it’s the goat:
Left to right: Bliss, Statement, Breeze, Vayder
I pronounce it “avoko-do”
It was made in China, not Japan
I remember you posting that one before and thinking “Ooooh one of the budget range magic yoyos worth getting!” so looked on Amazon and ebay and couldn’t find one for under £30 including postage. Dang!
As much as I dislike your yo-yo choices I love your enthusiasm for them.
