What are you throwing today?

Arrived today. Downbeat 20/20 in Patina. So far I am digging it!

It’s a unique player! Nimble and wide. Dense, but fun. Projection profile is nice for grinds. Fingerspins pretty well. I only wish it was blasted…

For sure, I really wish OneDrop would start offering more blasted finishes. This smooth finish they’ve been doing is pretty sticky and just doesn’t feel great. Its been my only issue with a couple of their more recent yoyos, I got an olive nitro that is so sticky feeling that I don’t like at all which is a real shame because I would otherwise love it.

It just feels sooo perfect tonight. Nice, thick Zipline on it. Perfect weight and specs for the kinda poop day I’ve been having. Sometimes there’s a perfect pick-me-up yoyo for whatever ails ya.

Notorious Ninja for the win! And is that a teaser of Night Shift art I see?!

That’s the string! Yes, to the question. 1 of 2 ideas. The other one involves a coffee cup.

Like a more solid Summit, or a summit if you had some brass S/E’s in.

Aka, awesomeness. SG allday.

Edit. Side effffect

What is an S/A?

I typoed. Meant Side Effects.

Ah! I see.

Brass side effects are the heaviest ones, aren’t they? I tend to avoid brass side effects because they reduce stability and make a yoyo heavier than I like. I think the only One Drop throw in which I felt adding brass side effects made an improvement was the Deep State.

Think this is why OD introduced the Deeper State.

The Brass Ultra Light S/Es are nice. Lighter of the heaviest.

But back to the SG, to me it’s a more solid Summit. Super satisfying return to the hand. Like a solid catch of a baseball in the sweet spot of your glove. Makes you smile.

It does feel really nice on the return to the hand and it has a certain “it” factor that I can’t really describe that makes it unique.

agreed, the Sugar Glider is really great. actually one of my favourite ODs – kinda surprised it’s as low key as it is. thought it would’ve been a hit for sure.

The Sugar Glider is my favorite yoyo. I don’t have enough yoyos, or talent, to have too valuable of an opinion, but it’s just the one I have the most fun with.

the response pads fell out but I fixed em

The Sage is a great yoyo. Metals come and go for me but my Sage will always have a place in my heart.

Throw of the day…deeper state orion for some semi responsive play.

I have two ancient glow yoyos that can only go up and down. One of them, I accidentally ripped the string out somehow a year ago and the other is my sister’s. They’re both fixed axles and I don’t wanna replace the string cuz I won’t be able to get them out again.
