Funny cause you just asked me about the TM, but how do you like the STR? I’ve been thinking about getting one. Is it like a budget draupnir? Or more of its own thing? Thanks and peace✌
Hey Zack, thanks for the details. It reminded me of the MFD Pixel Ape. I really like the shape even it just improves the look of my shelf ;). Really curious to throw it now. Have a good day
It is definitely a good throw with its very own look and play because of the two metal rings. But till today every time I pick up my draupnir or one of her sisters they amaze me. So for me they are another level and hard to find any yoyo that has this precision. But I would recommend it if you like YYR.
Yes that describes it very well. A bit heavier, so bit less elegant. The coating also a bit more standard.
Shape is more or less the “same”.
Still got the G.T.
Messing around with this one a bit as I prepare to do my next Retrospective series video over at Casual Throw:
These guys. Never heard much talk about the NM9, but it always caught my eye. Pulled the trigger on it finally, really enjoying it! It definitely reminds me of good old Yoyojam.
Thanks for the info I don’t want to cut corners, so I think I’m gonna save for the onslaught
Yeah good decision I got mine for a good price/trade so it was ok. Nice addition to the collection
How’s the spin time and stability on the Haymaker? Looks like there’s not a ton of rim weight?
Not buying regardless cuz I don’t support Duncan as long as a certain player is on the team, but curious from a design perspective.
I loved my cherry bomb! Had Da bomb as well. Great memories!
Even though the cup has the appearance of no rim weight, there is added mass near the rim to compensate. It’s hard to photo as the shiny finish prevents visibility, but if you feel with your finger it’s definitely there. I’m getting a 45 to 55 second sleeper before it rotates around its axis. It’s very smooth, not as powerful as a bimetal but it can hold its own. It is exceptionally easy to tilt its axis- I can see this being an issue for some, but I feel like in the right hands that could be a plus.
I’ve still barely touched the GTR.
