Are you sponsored by the fun police or something?
Why do you care if people post pictures of whatever they want with their yoyos as long as it’s not unethical?
What is this thread turning into? Some sort of no fun allowed thread?
Show us your yoyos and keep your thoughts to yourself. I don’t care what you don’t care about

/jk, sorry I know I really shouldn’t, but I couldn’t help myself from poking fun at this unwarranted melodramatic toxicity. I was genuinely going to just let this go, but seeing as virtue signalling seems to be a preferred trend, I thought I’ll give this a go too.

A post of this nature would have sufficed

Although personally I don’t think photos containing beer bottles are NSFW nor Not Safe for Kids.

As the person who kicked off this trend (if you can call it that) I feel entirely responsible for what seems to be deemed condemnable behaviour and a license to spew condescending and deprecating insults.

Whilst I am more than happy to stop with “Throws’ N’ Brews” type posts, I fail to see how posting toxicity like this is more morally superior than people having a bit of fun including beers in their typical yoyo photos to mix it up and make quarantine times a little lighter-hearted.

Also if anyone does have an issue with this, take it up with me directly instead of picking on a brand new member @Tanker, posting his first ever post. As the person who started this abomination of a trend, I will answer to it. What a great way to welcome someone in… SMH :man_shrugging:

Anyway rant over, now everyone can go back to being equally miserable so that we dare not upset anyone who needs to rain on every bit of fun. I mean how dare we have fun on such a serious thread and contaminate the purity of yoyo only photos with backdrops and props.

In all seriousness though, I’m just upset, I bought all these different beers to try this week and will have to resort to drinking without taking any photos of them with my yoyos.

I’ll respond in this thread since I was quoted in your response. I hope my comment wasn’t perceived as out of line. I know you’re a nice dude and clearly a family man. I’m very confident you’re not trying to cause harm to anyone.

The forum rules say, “Let’s stick to yoyos.” My feelings are that this should be a place where minors and adults can co-exist without a barrage of adult references (drugs, alcohol, profanity, sex, etc.) Granted, photos of a yoyo next to alcohol are very low on the spectrum of things that are offensive. I still don’t think that drinking and alcohol should be glorified in this particular setting. And just to re-emphasize my earlier point, I am certain that you (or any of the others posting beer and yoyo photos) are trying to cause harm to anyone.

Thanks Ben,

While I personally don’t think alcohol, or more specifically photos containing yoyos and bottles of beer should be classified on the same level as drugs, profanity, sex etc.
Beer adverts are all over the place in almost every country out there, and it’s not really glorifying it, and I do think exposing kids to some things (not everything maybe) in life is better than hiding it. I wouldn’t glorify things to my kids I hope, but neither would I drink in secret around my family.

Also I don’t think we are violating any forum rules either.

Anyway, that’s just my personal beliefs, and not meant to spark an argument, but merely to explain mine and others actions.

I just want to clarify that I didn’t really have an issue with your post, and as you can see I used it as an example of how a decent person communicates.

What bothers me isn’t let’s stop xyz because of abc reasons.
It’s oh something is wrong, so this gives me ammunition and moral high ground to give other people a talking down to (pretty much exactly like I am doing right now) kind of special snowflake behaviour.

All good man, I did the crime too. I lurked for a while around here before joining and yours were certainly not the only posts that I’ve seen with bottles in them. I do understand the other side though after all it is supposed be about yoyos. I have 2 kids as well. I only enjoy beers on the weekends and I only see my kids on the weekend so those worlds have to collide. My kids couldn’t care less what I’m sipping on when we’re all throwing (better yet, tangling) yoyos.

What’s important is that we’re all playing together so that is what my future posts will reflect. I collect folding knives too and although some yoyos look really cool next to a matching knife, I’ll be sure not to show that here. I certainly never meant to offend anybody and I think we should all be able to get back to our regular scheduled programming now.
Here’s my Sesh with a new friend at my house.

I’ve never been a part of alcohol culture, or coffee culture, or foodie culture, etc. So when people mash that stuff with yoyos, it just sort of makes me feel like I stepped into a conversation I don’t belong in. That doesn’t mean people should stop doing it, it just means that there are (unintended) social side-effects they may want to be aware of, that’s all.

That’s a baby, right? I heard you should never touch or get near a baby deer. Their mother leaves them for a bit since the babies do not have a scent and it’s safer to be alone for awhile. If the mother smells a human scent on her baby she will abandon it.

The finish is outstanding. From everything that I’ve read and watched, the similar finish between the two keeps being brought up. Grinds aren’t really in my playlist yet but the little bit I can do are super smooth on this.

Yes, it is a regular thing here. My kids call my house deer daycare. The mothers drop them off and are back before nightfall. That’s why I leave half of my backyard long for them to hide.

I deleted that post in response to @Tanker about being sponsored by beverage companies. I’m not sure why it is still showing up for people to read. I meant to reply to you, I didn’t realise that Tanker posted that picture until after I posted.

Not identical twins. But dam close…

in my view it’s not a problem … it’s just little pertinent but … we live in a free world and a drink, whatever it is, in my eyes it certainly doesn’t obscure the yoyo that is close to it, but maybe this is not the case for everyone.
(I then, as you know, I write from Italy and here, even at the age of 12 years old, you can freely drink a beer while eating pizza in a public place … so …)

I’ll have to consider re-doing that one for a possible future run!
