What are you throwing today?

i’d like to get my hands on a junior and diptych - the only other 2 i haven’t tried that i care to. the 420s were too large to really interest me, and i have enough wood to last a winter in the new hampshire white mountains! i think i have all of the other metals from a-rt… my current faves are the sparrow and grail.

Lol. Ya I’m not sure I need any more wood throws either. I do want the Junior and 69 to complete the metals. The Sparrow is newest to me and I have been really impressed with how well it plays for it’s size. I was worried it was going to be a gimmick, but my worries were unfound. I do like to play an oversized throw every now and again so I dig the 420. Lastly, if you like the Grail I guarentee that you’ll love the Diptych.

This guy is reinforcing my love of bi-metals. I really like the Basecamp throws.

I don’t know how to feel about the KGB liking my yoyos. I like it but I’m scared.

OG Puffin with some new Zipline string, really liking the red colour, doesn’t look so good in this light

I think it looks great! Terrific color combo. Is that a (ZipLine) Cherry Bomb string? That’s my favorite red string brand.

It is one of the Stranger Strings line they do… Case Study 048 in fact!

If it’s a yoyo day, it is also a Markmont Classic day…

How do you like the Underdog? I would love to try one someday… Or even look at one in person.

i’m enjoying the underdog, it’s much different than any other piece in my arsenal… and a bit wider than i’m usually playing. you have to put in work, which is why i like this style of throw anyway. it’s a unique flower, like me, that i was fortunate enough to obtain.

it can play solid, and floaty in the same trick circle, which caught me by surprise a bit. again, showing where i need to put in work, but also highlighting the uniqueness and nuances of the piece. going back and forth between my other throws afterwards showed it even more… i can’t think of something to compare it to really off the top of my head… maybe b/c there isn’t?

i’m not a pro, never claimed to be. this is not a review, this was my experience. i’m enjoying my experience.

Teal 4(s) Life

Throwing the A-RT / G2 Life more these days. I know there are plenty of these on the BST lately but I wonder if that’s because it’s the most widely available A-RT, and that it’s more of a solid player versus the more unique-feeling yoyos (e.g., floaty + tight binds) that A-RT is known for. While the Life might not be as unique as the others (but let’s not fool ourselves, in general, life is not so unique despite how we privilege our own individual experiences when it comes to making sense of the world :joy:), it’s a great playing and looking yoyo that I haven’t spent enough time throwing, so that changes now.

the life was the last throw i pulled out before i went to bed last night… as i hadn’t pulled it out in a bit. and, after everything i played yesterday i expected it to feel flat. it surely was not

Love that teal color!

But I prefer the Grail over the Life.
