TMBR Morrow as seen on Fixed Axle Friday Throws - #844 by Exmime
thoughts on the irving?
Its my first wooden fixie and I love it. Plays great and is well crafted. The axel mechanism is genius. You look at it and think" this is how it should done- as there is no other way"
i’m curious about it, it looks sharp (not pointy )
i like the eh series a lot for current wood, and have been playing then knack too…
the more wood the better!
Glued in wins for me!
Ahead of its time in a way
Nothing wrong with that. Beauty in simplicity😁
More complicated means more chances for something to go wrong.
I love variety of shapes/sizes. There’s always a little adjustment period.
Yup. I can’t think of any reasons that would require me to take apart a fixie (ok, aside from wanting to modify the response system, but that shouldn’t be necessary if a good one is already in place). I view the screw in axle system as more of a novelty and just something else to go wrong. When I first got my purpleheart Irving, it spun away in half on my 5th throw. Ever since I constantly make sure my TMBRs are screwed together before throwing them.
No picture, but lately ive been throwing a beech Spinworthy KNack, a cherry TMBR Morrow, a Doc Pop Weekender, and my new MK1 Umbra when im not throwing 0A.
Agreed. It’s novelty. I’m not saying it’s superior or anything like that. Just that if one were to put a all wood screw mechanism, this does seem brilliantly logical.
