I haven’t actually tried those unfortunately, I would say it plays a lot like a wider Chief but a bit heavier and noticeably more stability and power. Pretty much the perfect every day yoyo, it could easily be my desert island throw. Another unfortunate thing is that I have also not tried a Leaf to see how similar that is but I can’t imagine liking it better than the Derivation if that says anything.
So it occurred to me this morning as i was checking the brakes and lubing the brass transaxle on my ProYo, that my collection is getting dated![]()
Honestly might be the most tame MFD colorway I’ve ever seen, lol. Real clean!
I’m almost wishing I went for the v2 proto I didn’t think it would be as long as it was between them lol
where does one acquire? not on g2 site ![]()
Throwing the Purpleheart Wolverine by @rich at the Boise Woodworks. Some just dropped. It is 28mm wide with a 2.2mm gap, response holes and a dimple. 6mm axle for long spin time.
The larger gap than his other designs allows me to do string tricks like Hydrogen Bomb, Split the Atom, etc more easily, but the hole response still allows a very reliable response for stalls, moons and regens.
The operator is still in proto phase so it’s only a handful of folks. I don’t even have one lol
Oh wow, this one is right up my alley!
What is ittt
Blue Crosscut with sanded cups. I used 2000 grit to get the brushed effect and polished the inner rim to thin the ano layer and get that burnt gold colour.
I actually really liked the original polished darker blue cups but it had a ton of micro scratches in the cup which completely ruined the look. Got a decent deal on it here so I’m not sure if that was originally how it was or not.
