I definitely agree! The dip feels closer to the canvas whereas the trip feels more like an amalgamation of the canvas and grail. I personally prefer the trip over the dip and the canvas over the dip aswell. Still love the dip but would probably choose the others over it. Waiting to get home to try my b7 but I definitely prefer the 420 lite to the regular 420.
I prefer the Dip over the Canvas and the Trip by a long way.
And the 420 lite by a long way over regular 420.
I love the Grail, and am very interested to try the B7.
The b7 is very nice, I definitely prefer it to my grail. It has an almost ti-like ring to it
I also prefer the Diptych to the Canvas and Triptych, but I like the Grail more than any of them.
You should definitely get a B7 if you want a slightly zippier Grail with that beautiful 7075 sheen.
It’s wild seeing that flowable FAQ I did, it’ll be eleven years old in a few months! Flowable low key still feels better than pads in some Yo-Yos imo, and I wish it didn’t… response pads are easier haha
How long do you like to let the silicone dry?
You’ll want to let the silicone cure for 24 hours.
I’ve had a couple times where it didn’t seem completely dry at 24hrs. Had a little bit of chunky wear going on. I started going at least 2 days and haven’t had that happen. Wondering if anyone else had seen that.
What kind of silicone did you use? Ordinary flowable silicone, like the kind YYE used to sell, only requires 24 hours of curing time unless you live in an unusual climate.
I’m using the permatex stuff they sell here. In the mountain west so probably not environmental. Maybe it wasn’t the silicone but some other factor like string or I snagged it picking a knot.
I’ve got one also, in hot pink.
Best plastic in the case.
They are so beautiful. Would love to see your pink sometime
Hell yeah.
My favorite zeros were the METAL zeros that were fhz painted by atomic cow and sili recessed by Luke vader. Need to find one of those.
The taurbaby painted ones were nice too.
Miss the days of all the cool painted zeros. Taiwannick paperclads were sweet as well.
The Diptych if I had to choose, I prefer the weight and feel.
Until it is cured - Which is not the answer you were looking for but it really does depend. Sometimes it’s ready in just a couple of hours other times it takes longer. All depending upon the temperature and humidity etc. For safety, leave it overnight.
EDIT - I do not use Permatex as it takes longer to cure and it also gives a poorer result for me, where I am, with my yoyo’s and my preferences. I use 151 silicone and have done for years.
