- Maybe the most special yo-yo related throwing picture I will ever have. This is me on break from recording the audiobook for my book on the philosophy of games and play, yo-yoing in the little alleyway behind the recording studio. I had just read the chapter from my book which is all about yo-yo, which ends with some of my favorite quotes from @edhaponik.
- The YYF Rio had taken the spot of my clear fave plastic yoyo, wresting it away from the Fulvia and the Speedaholic. it just feels really … natural. It plays basically like a happy medium between a shortcut and an ultracut, and while it doesnt have the performance of its metal kin, it has my favorite feel. Just a touch more heft than the ultracut, which makes it perfect for me.

This is kind of a funny story, but this is a Northstar championship edition. I ended up getting another because of yoyofactory taking care of me warranty wise. This was vibey one that I retired to being a toddler toy, but my toddler smashed it so hard on the ground that one of the caps popped off. Just because I wanted to see how crazy the vibe got, I threw it and it actually smoothed out the vibe so I popped off the other cap, sharpied the nut and white plastic parts black, and I’ve been really enjoying it.

Current Throwtation: these have been the few that I’m constantly going back to. These are all A tier yo-yos in my opinion. Boosted Rainier, Spotlight Ultra, and Leaf are all A. The Terrarian is super floaty in comparison to these with flat caps. However, if you put Z stacks and @yoyospirit’s RSMs, it’s a super fun gadget, being able to grab the sides of the yoyo in midair. Also, it’s a table top fidget toy.
