What are you throwing, 2022?

I haven’t taken it apart the screws look stainless and real(I don’t think they are TI) but from what I understand it’s basically a hubstack modded prime8 Lathed Back Designs did the mods, the hubstacks are custom like I don’t think you could swap them out for rice stacks or Z stacks, I think the screws look cool especially on the 2evil also it’s very MFD.

Been a lil while since I’ve taken the Borealis 2 off the shelf.

Camping and Glow Disc Golf this weekend. Just a little room left in my overstuffed vehicle. Seemed appropriate to bring my Duncan Limelite. Faux Off the Grid Camping.

After watching this YYJ documentary :

This morning I broke out my old Patriot and realized its 20 years old. Put a pair of gray YYJ shims in, and started playing with it unresponsive starburst style… This yoyo is still so good. Its the first yoyo that really impressed me with the floaty and smooth feel a yoyo can have and I was sold on the performance of c bearings from that point on. I discovered YYJ through Infinite Illusions/yoyoguy.com after linking to the store from sector-y. So many cool and experimental models in those days, especially hybrid and o ring response, I thought that friction stickers were kind of a scam for a broke college student and I wanted long lasting response at the time. I got this Matrix at the same time, these changed my game allowing me to find flow and string much longer combos together and still get return to my hand. This was before super wide gaps and binding became normal for all players.

Took my Borealis 2 out tonight because of your post. I don’t like it quite as much as the Boy, but it’s still one of my favorite CLYWs.

These two along with the Akita feel like they’re the modern icons of CLYW, they’re all so good.

Imma be real with you… the Inhaler has grown on me more than maybe, any other yoyo… ever? Yeah, it’s not perfect… but that’s okay. It’s fun as hell, it feels great and it gives me my daily dose of nostalgia. It’s amazing what swapping out the bearing did for this thing, since normally it doesn’t have that huge of an impact - however it’s pretty dramatic here. Still probably gonna silicone it since the binds are slippy, but who cares man - it’s literally the only yoyo I’ve used the past two days. Nuts.

The Borealis 2 really is a standout in my small collection, I even preferred it to the similarly shaped Alpine I had a while back

I have both and I like the Borealis 1 more. I don’t have a good reason though. It was the second CLYW I owned so it’s a bit nostalgic for me. I also got it in Ash Berry which is just beautiful. Plays great, I’ve dropped it on concrete a dozen times and it’s still smooth. It’s just perfect. Top 3 CLYW, top 5 yoyos for me. Just a good yoyo.
