Thank you. It’s printed hollow in one piece. Here is the cross section.

I’d love to learn the process of getting a complex element like that top graphic integrated into the rest of the yoyo body in Fusion 360.

Parlay and Bolt while I put off paperwork.

Caps on the Bolt were very loose, so I siliconed them in place. Plays great.

Wish you all a happy weekend.

I forget the exact terminology, but you make the drawing first in 2D then use that as the template for the hole tool. Sorry for the terrible explanation but I’m pretty sure thats the process

A little 5A practice with my Stealth today.

What color is your parlay?

Love the caps? Where did you get them done?

It really not complicated, just a bit time consuming. For this one I reviewed some free clip art then made a sketch on paper. I took a pic of the sketch and converted to .jpg. Then pulled it that into Fusion using the “insert canvas” command. Select the face to insert canvas then scale it accordingly. Next I created a sketch on this face and just traced the image overlay with polylines and curved spline lines. Then I used “press/pull” command to recess the different sections of the drawing that I wanted to be different colors. The black is on the bed, blue is -0.6. white is -0.8, green is -1.0. Did it this way to try and even out the weight and reduce vibe. Output the body as a 3mf, send it to PrusaSlicer and set up the filament swaps at the appropriate layers. Once here I realized thatmuch of my line work was smaller than the 0.4 mm nozzle that that a had so I had to edit the Fusion drawing and do it all again.

You can avoid ALOT of this by using pic art imported as a .SVG file using the “insert mesh” command and then you can omit the whole “line work” step since Fusion will recognize the line work automatically and you can just select the area you want to press/pull.

Edit: maybe a Mod can move this to the “Let’s talk 3D printing” thread.

The caps are a foil art made by @suspense, on a thick laminated paper. I have used over the polycarbonate caps, but also straight on the yoyo with a mild non-permanent adhesive over the borders

It’s a brown one. I like this brown a lot. Looks real classy with the gunmetal flat caps.

Same. I wasn’t sure of it at first but it has grown on me a lot over the past couple of weeks. Got some brass domes on the way and I am really looking forward to seeing how it feels at 65g.
