Lately about 90% of my listening has been KMHD 89.1, Portland’s listener supported jazz radio station. It rips. No commercials, and with their tag line “Jazz without boundaries” you can can hear just about anything. Even if you aren’t in Portland, I suggest checking our their stream online.

I can second this! I live west of Portland, and when my wife and I are home, KMHD is always on in my living room / kitchen. No commercials, and an amazing amount of variety. It is always very interesting to listen to, and makes great background music. The hosted shows on Friday afternoon and evening are especially good!

Dude! Come join us for a jam if you haven’t already! Next one is next weekend, September 26th at Cathedral Park from 11-5. We are raffling off some yo-yos to raise funds to pay for our indoor space for winter time meets!

I don’t know if I will make it out there next weekend, but I will try to get to one of your meetings soon. Good luck finding an indoor space. I was sorry to hear about the Lloyd Center. I haven’t been there in a long time, but I went Christmas shopping there every year for a while. I also saw “The Adventures of Baron Munchausen” at the theater there when I was in high school. It was a limited release, and Lloyd Center was the closest theater that had it. Good times!

We got in with a new all ages music venue that is perfect for the club! I do miss the hell out of Lloyd though. People are still trying to stop the demo, but it feels pretty eminent at this point. Such an iconic spot to lose.
