An apology would go further as it’s obviously KNOT a skill issue as your very pointed reply to his original stated.
Lol. I can see why that’s confusing, based on the topic of the video. I posted this after my original post earlier today. I dislike V shaped yoyos and gravitate towards H shapes.
lol, you have a point there. But it’s all good. Appreciate your support.
You should try the yoyofriends vulture! It’s a really powerful and fast h shape bimetal
Actually, I felt it was very underpowered. I had the special Spiderman colorway. Most inner bimetals are underpowering to me, including the uprld coglite. Ironically, the V shaped SF motive is the best playing inner bimetal I’ve ever played
damn ladder combo goes hard af
…or DaVinci by YYFR
Hmmm. Well there’s always the galaxy diver, shutter evo, or the upcoming outlier+!
haha. Thank you! I modified the original Haddock trick and created a GT ending. I have a tutorial on it on my channel.
Da vinci is probably their best. In fact, yoyofriends excels the most with their bimetals. Although I found the peregrine to be lacking in power. I only like their Nucleon and Pheasant mono the most.
I did some shopping today, lol. I’m getting the new Libero by zero gravity, Deviant + by brandon vu, and the Thorn by one drop.
Oooh I got to huck around a deviant+ and an outlier+ proto at a meet, they’re both so good! Enjoy the deviant+
Thanks. I really like the Titanium-look colorway. Excited for the deviant +
When you say v-shaped get more knots - do you mean you think they are more likely to ‘snag’ mid trick and create a knot? Is it with tricks specific to backspin at all?
I often find that even more than shape it really can come down to more specific differences or nuances with the gap and how that cuts away from the yoyo, the actual gap width itself, and the weight distribution since sometimes more rim weighted yoyos with a wide gap just feel more forgiving, etc. And with an h-shape you definitely feel that more too.
Can you do the trick SuperFlow?
Oh, wow. The Legend has joined the thread, lol. So… in answer to your question, an axle knot is typically not a snag but when the string drops into the gap suddenly. I was using the SF Motive and despite its wide gap, I was getting crazy axle knots ( from simple mounts like a front mount especially.) I believe it’s because V shaped yoyos don’t reject off the string as easily as H shapes and due to the sharp drop in its walls. Just a theory. I could be wrong. Thanks. OH, YES. I love superflow but it’s super snaggy. I should experiment with it on a v shaped yoyo and see the difference
I just noticed the way a gap cuts away makes a huge difference the other day. My Recognition and Peregrine are basically the same width but if I didn’t know I they were the same width I would guess the Peregrine is almost 2mm wider from the way it feels.
I never commented on the first post, just skimmed it on my break. But i was going to say that i honestly agree with you on this. For me personally, it’s all the super low or no wall yoyos. A monarch is the closest i have to a V shape. 90% of my throws are organic or modified organic. But i do find that i get way more axle knots with the low wall throws. I always thought it was just my personal way of throwing and yoyos with huge catch zones just don’t mesh well. (My main reason for not using them is the feel of them in my hand, no other reason) but the noticeable amount of knots just adds to my dislike for them.
Obvi, V shapes are top tier in most aspects. No one really competes with highwalls these days. So it’s just us and the “way” we throw. Whatever that means.
Edit, i did pre order a pair of Titans so i think i’m about to fall in love with the V shape.
Thanks for checking in. Yeah, I think I’m on to something here. V shaped are perhaps too competitive in design for me. I would never perform with one due to the axle knots. But it’s good to have a preference. Makes buying yoyos a little easier.
Do you do public performance? Thinking about it?
How long have you been playing?
I started out on 2008+2009 on a grind machine ii as my first unresponsive and dark magic ii. That shows my age I guess. But I didn’t progress past double or nothing and 1.5. I came back to it in 2021 and progressed amazingly well for two years solid now. I bring my yoyo everywhere I go. I am thinking of yoyoing In public this week locally. Maybe I will get a GF or someone’s attention lol. You? How long playing?
