In my opinion underrated is Unprld - Seiji no one really speak about it and is available everywhere, simply one of my favourites yoyo ever, it really excel in everything and also has a pleasant look.

I kinda agree. I feel hummingbird in 2023 is outdated and no longer is one of the best for competition. I always want to update it but it’s just a classic and what put us on the map. However, we have to evolve with the mordern trickset, meta etc. The hummingbird rev. 1 will be a thing in the far far future. We are already thinking about how to tackle this.

I think the yoyofriends Nucleon was massively underrated. The things a powerhouse. It’s a bimetal that feels like you would imagine a bimetal feeling, before you buy one for the first time. I love my z01 focus, but it’s not the combo master I wanted it to be.
The cheat code was way over rated. (Sorry Brandon) Also, I think the one drop terrarians are expensive heavier versions of the shortcut.
It’s also possible I might be biased towards yoyofriends. I have other yo-yos. I love my iceberg and horizon too if it counts for anything.

I think Motion products seem to be mostly under-hyped. I currently only have the Linear, which I love and play more than anything else. But I never see it recommended when people ask for monometal suggestions. Granted, it’s a bit more expensive than the average mono, but there’s plenty of 15-20% off sales that address that.
I’ve heard only positive things about Motion in general, but the volume of chatter is far too low in my opinion.
In what’s sure to be an unpopular opinion, I think the plastic fulvia is overhyped. But that could just be me. I tried everything to get myself into it - stock setup, different strings, different bearings. I just can’t get into it.

played an iceberg and feel like its overrated. it just doesn’t click for me. i prefer speedaholic fx ( like really impressed with it) and i’m not really into these shapes for yoyos generally.
Curious to understand why the Panorama is considered overrated ?

I probably overrate Hades at this point but it IS my favorite. Maybe underrated outside of this forum but I think it gets the recognition it deserves here.

If you love feeling like you’re throwing a yoyo from 2008, except maybe the gap width, then it’s not overrated. If you prefer to not do that, it’s pretty overrated. A fine fun piece for sure, and deserves some praise, but the unpopular opinion is that it does not deserve the gratuitous horn-tooting it gets around here.

an organic throw with high walls probably isn’t going to be for everyone.

It’s funny cause literally a day before I opened this thread, I ordered a clear diorama, lol. For me, it’s def a nostalgia piece more than anything though, started playing around 2010, and back in the day I couldn’t really buy onedrop, so I just dreamed of having their more classic stuff. Can see that a more modern crowd wouldn’t enjoy it cause it’s a highwalled organic with a flat bearing, def can’t do a modern trick set unless you are really really good.

Throw a Pixel or DS bearing on the Diorama and it completely changes its personality. I went from liking it a hell of a lot to loving it, no joke. There’s a lot tricks that are more fun to do on certain organics like the Diorama, the GOPA, and the Zero. A lot are even easier on those than on your average “performance” yoyo.
