If you want the raw look, grab some very fine grit sandpaper and start rubbing. If you want to add a bit more shine to it afterwards, give it a quick buff with some steel wool as well.
You need lye aka oven cleaner, protective gloves and goggles are necessary things to have. If you’re young then you should ask a parent, or someone who knows what is going on, to help. Don’t leave it in the chemicals too long or you could get pits all in the metal. Pull the halves out every few minutes and check it out.
not necessarily. You can seriously screw up a yoyo if you don’t know what you’re doing with either, but sanding is most definitely safer. I say just leave it to professionals though.
It’s not that hard, the only mess up you can have is a scratched looking yoyo. But that only happens with low grit in the 60 range.
Another mess up could be a stripped axle, but that’s why you use a extra or buy a extra.
It is not hard, get a axle the same size as you Supernova axle, put it on the drill and spin on high, take the highest sandpaper 220-600 and start sanding it off.
Then after the ano is gone get some polish and put it on a rag. Keep the yoyo on the drill spinning, apply to the yoyo. It should polish.
Other than that, I’m not sure.
Exactly. THis has become a hobby of mine, and I find it gets svery tiring. It seems easy, but a good 15-20 minutes in you will feel the base of your thumb hurt like it never has from pressing the sandpaper down for so long. Also, for quality it takes me about 1 hour to an hour and a half, mostly due to the cups.
If you insist on using oven cleaner, check your yoyo often, because you can get these crater-like things on it. I would reccomend only doing one half at a time
