I pretwist thread to grow up the thickness of the string without adding a thread. To keep the string slow.
Also pretwist is interesting when using multiple color.

wow! i can only make around 5 strings a day, taking about 45 - 60 min out of my day
In fact it have take more time, because the polyester thread cone is only 274m vs other cone that is 2000m.
So i lost anlot of time changing the polyester cone.
