You are lifting you NTH. It should say on the same level as your TH. In fact I don’t move my NTH at all. I swing the yoyo into the top string and pull my TH to keep the strings tight and help with the triangle display.
whew! that bind said “KAPOW!”
Thank you for the advice, I will give it a go.
TaW 2025 Week 4 - Zack Gormley’s Underpass Combo
I’m pretty sure this is a Yuuki trick, it was definitely being done in 08/09. Regardless, I paired it with my favorite Zach GT from one of the Scout videos.
Was bored while making dinner and filmed weeks 1-3. Let’s see if I can keep up with the thread this year (I’ll try)
Week 5 - Chop Suey
This week we’re going to do a fun intro to chopsticks with this repeater. As with most chopstick tricks, the key is hand formation. Nice big open “C” formation.
The basic moves for this one are easier so if you get comfortable with it, here is a variation someone here on the forums came up with, or insert it into a chopstick combo.
As always, if you have trouble just give a shout. Good luck, have fun, be creative, and have a great weekend!
Chop suey —> Ecco bind
there’s also the very similar chopstick chop, where instead of flipping and catching, you let the yoyo wrap around
Gonna be honest I really dislike this trick, but I can’t just choose to not do a week the day after I said I’d try to be consistent with these lol
FWIW, it looks great!
what do you dislike about it?
The initial step feels cool and like you’re gonna start a trick, but then you just exit back to trapeze in the most uncomfortable way possible.
Trying to force a chopstick exit to trap when you’re already in trap just feels kinda weird to me, like I don’t understand what the point is. So it’s simultaneously uncomfortable and feels pointless to me since it’s not transitioning to a new mount.
Just responding to the question, no shade to anybody who likes this trick. What tricks you like doing are all personal preference at the end of the day.
for sure! i was just curious, thanks for clarifying
Sorry y’all, I plan on hopping back on the TaW Train soon, but I’ve been sick with various things since the year started–First it was Covid, then a Cold, and now the Flu, and I really don’t feel up to it currently.
