My concern rn is that it’s doing pretty good but I don’t want to just kill the video by reuploading another version right? So I think imma change the title to read description or so, and mention that my version could be a sort of variation then add a link that shows the differences to it
To be honest, this kind of makes it seem like you made the tutorial with the intent to grow your following and not to actually help the person who wanted help. I also don’t really think its very respectful to the original creator of the trick to rush to finish the tutorial, which led to you teaching parts of the trick incorrectly.
I mean, of course I want to grow my channel but I want to help people as I do it, I think we’re viewing it from different lenses maybe? Like I’m viewing it like if I repost it, people won’t click on it cuz they already seen it, and on YouTube low clickrate will literally just stop showing you on even people who subscribe to you, meanwhile not doing it means it’ll be pushed to more people outside of just this forum and teach them new tricks, but I can still teach the way I should’ve by having a disclaimer in the title that’s very hard to not notice.
Also I don’t think I would’ve done the trick differently tbh, I just genuinely thought I was doing the trick right, if I had more time I would’ve just added a chest cam
Edit: as to the rushing bit, I still spent hours making this, like 4 hours of practicing the trick and like 3 hours editing it like, it’s not like it was extremely rushed, like I just got confused cuz I got the same outcome by doing slightly different steps which is really hard to see in the original tut imo
Not wanting to correct your mistakes after they’ve been pointed out to you because it might make your remake of someone else’s tutorial get less views is not a good look
No I’m absolutely going to correct them, it’ll be linked in the description to an updated video pointing those things out
I totally misread this thread.
I love the older tricks from a certain era and music.
Anyway, carry on.
Wouldn’t it be easier if you just took the video down and uploaded the fixed version though? I’m not really sure what your motivation is, but there are so many more efficient ways to get popular on youtube than making yoyo trick tutorials. Your main priority should be to help people, but given the amount that i’ve seen you obsess over youtube analytics both here and on other threads, I don’t think that’s your main goal. The whole concept of wanting to get big off of it just comes off as pretty selfish given that most of the tricks you teach are not your own and already have decent tutorials made for them.
Bro if I wanted to get big I wouldn’t be doing yoyo tutorials at all, I do it out of passion, so let me break this down cuz I feel like you’re misunderstanding something.
If the video does well > more people learn how to yo-yo
Video does bad = hides my video from even people who want to learn how to yo-yo.
and again I’LL BE UPDATING THE VIDEO WITH MORE HOURS SPENT ON SHOWING THE DIFFERENCES* but it’ll be linked in the description, and here’s why
If I reupload it rn, people who already seen it won’t click on it, and YouTube will think that the video must be bad, therefore it won’t show my future videos to my current subscribers, and also not to people who would’ve gotten to see the video otherwise. The title will literally say (READ DESCRIPTION) and that and pinned comment will explain to check out the link to the updated tut.
And remember my goal is that I WANT MORE PEOPLE TO YOYO, it’s not me being greedy, if so I would’ve done something other than make yoyo tutorials.
Idk why you’re making me seem like this guy who’s greedy for views and such when I literally spent hours trying to make this video, and I’m just getting grilled because I didn’t realize a yoyo went in front of a string not behind, and so the way I hopped off the yoyo was slightly different, mad disrespectful to all the effort I tried doing for this
Ah thats fine, since current subscribers already know about yoyo, and your goal is to get people into yoyoing. Those two don’t conflict with each other. You are rightfully getting flamed imo, i think leaving an incorrect tutorial is more disrespectful to the creator in this case
Alright I’ll just reupload it then, but I do wanna say that I don’t think the creator is fuming because I dismounted in a slightly different way, like literally people would just click on the video (because it got recommended to them) see the title and think alright let me see the description, and just click on my updated version. Like I don’t see why people are flaming on that at all, it’s not like I’m saying nah imma put in no effort to update it at all
I appreciate you making that tutorial. I can’t even fathom how some people take you helping people with a trick the wrong way. But, that’s the world we live in. Once again thanks for your tutorial don’t let these people try to make you feel like you did something wrong!
Well he certainly taught the trick wrong…
Went w a kwijibo ending for the last hop and uncross
My two cents, since I summoned you originally.
I know Youtubes algorithm sucks and you have to do certain things to keep it going, so do what is best for your channel to grow.
BUT I would like to see the fixed version, with the actual real, absolutely vital part of the trick fixed.
Where is the POV dance? Right @digitalcharlie?
Yeah ofc I’m gonna have it updated and show you the real version. That being said I do think people are blowing this out of proportion cuz it does look basically identical. I’ll have it out by tomorrow
Thanks!
No need to rush though, clean videos make better videos and your channel gets more viewers.
I have definitely been able to learn some tricks easier and in a shorter time period from your channel than other places.
Appreciate the kind words man thanks. And like really it shouldn’t take much time at all to make, if you learn it from the tut I made rn, the adjustments to do it correctly are so small you’ll learn it instantly
