We spent a month looking for and purchasing a home and then moving in slowly over this past month. We are the final phases of getting the old house cleaned out and hopefully sometime soon I’ll have some brain power to devote to TaW again.
nice! hope the house is going better than it began
We got the major sewer pipe issue fixed but the rest of the pipe still needs replaced… it seems to be functioning at least for now so we’re hoping it holds out till spring. Besides that, we are beyond happy with our new home. My wife and I are working on 28 years and we’ve always rented. This is our first time owning our own so it’s super exciting. And scary.
@Splizacular you are CRUSHING it dude!
tks dude!

Week 48–A Couple Houdini Tricks
Kwon Taek Sang Tower Trick
Jeong Yong Chan Slack Red Triangle Trick
Yo this week we’re going to be learning a couple short and simple tricks from Houdini mount. They both seemed a bit short for TaW but are cool and can slot into other combos easily, so we’re going to learn both! Let me know if you have any questions! Have fun and good luck!
whats the difference between a red and green triangle?
A red triangle won’t cause knots if you drop out of the mount, a green triangle can cause a knot if you don’t pop out the correct side of the mount.
quick and lazy duo trick combo for the week, but gonna try and stay consistent for the final taw month
ironical monical answered this already but red triangle is just a completely different string formation. Where a GT has an actual kink/knot in the string, a red triangle is a different string formation that just looks like a triangle but there’s no kink/knot. Just pulling the string through a trapeze like this gives you the most basic red triangle
Oh yeah here’s the tricks! I love dropping the tower into this goofy slack tower lol it’s just so silly
got it, tks jason and mable! man, i gotta step up my bind game. i always see yalls flashy finishes and here i only know sky and guy wright
edit: i only know how to throw straight into houdini. does anyone have a transition to enter if i wanted to in the middle of a combo? i guess i could roll into it from a sub mount but I’m curious what else there is
One of my favorites is from Tsukasa Takatsu: starts in the kamikaze mount and transitions into the Houdini mount easily, but flows really well. Here’s a link to his tutorial, I tend to go with the whip entrance into the kamikaze instead of the one here, but both work really well!
Nate Martsolf also does the “instant” Houdini mount a lot and it looks nice. I have yet to try and learn it, but this is another way to get into the mount (he goes over the instant mount a little ways into the video)! I know you asked for ways to get into it in the middle of a combo, but this is just too slick to not mention!
ok i got the first one but the second is a straight up non starter for me. i can’t even get that first mount. it looks like a chopstick element swinging toward nth but both strings from nth thumb end up in the gap. i think i know in theory what to do but i can’t even begin to land that mount. maybe its because I’ve really done almost no chopstick work before, but any tips to just get off the ground on that one would be appreciated
Yeah so your description of the element, i think it’s correct that’s right. I would work on just getting comfortable with some basic chopsticks elements for a bit bc it is pretty awkward going into both strings like that. This is a good repeater to get comfortable with. One tip is to make sure the fingers are opened into a nice C shape and try not to straighten them out too much into an L.
These are pretty fun. I like that chopsticks thing a lot.
ugh its giving me fits. yall make it look so natural. makes me wanna hulk out and break something lol I’ll get it eventually, heck i only just got consistent with kwyjibo and I’ve known how to do that one for months, but dang it tests my patience
