You base your standard on something you can’t even feel in the hand, or tell by looking at it.
Width looks fine to me. I’m sure they designed it with competition-play in mind and not intricate tech stuff that few people do anymore. If a few mm extra in width makes or breaks your play style then more practice is probably in order.
I was personally speaking to preferences, not whether it is suited to competition play or not. I’m allowed to have a width preference without adjusting my amount of practice. 
A few extra mm is noticeable in yoyos. Heck, you can SEE it in that comparison shot, even. Like I said, I like my Revenger (which is even wider), but that width would make me stop to consider things. If it got rave reviews or seemed particularly suited to me, I wouldn’t let the extra 2mm stop me from buying one, though.
Heck, YYR has made an entire product line out of small differences.

I can play a Tom Kuhn SB2 the same way I can a Master Galaxy.
I however much prefer the slightly wider or the slightly more narrow.
I was never a fan of the feel of 43-44mm
I love 42 and lower and 45 and higher.
