Throw-Yo Strings and Counterweights - Monocolors and Catalyst/Solvent Return Soon!

@Son-of-Morris gave me this idea on how to use some darker pink silk that I ordered by mistake.

Polysexual PRIDE strings are a similar blend to the Trans PRIDE strings, but are a tad thicker.

If there’s enough interest in these, I’ll put them in the shop. If not, I’ll return the unused spools of silk.

“Do you hear that? That’s the sound of the neurotoxin emitters emitting neurotoxin.”

This is an apt quote from an intelligence that may be greater than mine, but I digress. We are not here to quibble about which robotic thought process is greater than the next. We are here to talk about Throw-Yo’s “new” Neurotoxin Serums.

Why do I place the word new between virtual air quotes? Well, that’s because the colorway has been around almost as long as Throw-Yo has, as one of the first variations of strings Berv made back in the day.

Now, Neurotoxin is back and better than ever. As a Serum, it is as soft as a lazy cloud of noxious gas pouring out of a ventilation unit in an otherwise air-tight chamber. Thankfully, these strings will not kill you.

Unless you inhale them.

Similar to an actual neurotoxin.

Except you will die of having a string in your lungs instead of a chemical compound designed to disrupt your central nervous system.

Did I do a good job of marketing your new strings, Berv?

Yes, @Number44, you did a good job…of scaring people away.

We need to work on your people skills.

Luxury blend coming soon. Don’t know what to name it just yet. I’ll be calling them Tinctures, and they’re a silk/nylon blend born from my work with Silk in the Trans and Poly Emulsions. These will be a year-round offering, and feel amazing. I’m also using a different, higher quality nylon with these than is used in Serums, Teas, and Vapors (though I’ll be transitioning those over time.)

Still going back and forth on price for these. They’ll end up at either $15, $18, or $20 for a 3-pack. Pricey, but these are something special with a significantly larger cost to produce than other Throw-Yo strings.

I have one more silk blend in the works as well. It’s off to be tested by a pro as we speak!

Tinctures will launch June 1st for $18/3-Pack. I currently have one “demo” pack that contains a Strawberry Matcha, PRL, and CAL-E Tincture for $15 + $5 shipping (you can add on any other Throw-Yo strings or counterweights if you wish)

Himalayan Honey New Formula Serums* are in the shop!.

Over the next few months I’ll be replacing the nylon in Serums with a higher-quality nylon as my existing stock of nylon depletes.

Both the Neurotoxin Serums and Himalayan Honey Serums use 100% of the new nylon.

Tinctures Launch Early

Tinctures are now in the shop. Please allow up to 1 week for production before shipping.

Night soils?

Night Soils are the blend of string used for @AudreySickburn’s now-famous Waffle Stomper. If there’s enough interest, I’ll put 5-Packs of these up in the shop for those who want to keep on stompin’ long into the future.

You wanted longer strings, you’re getting longer strings! You can now choose between ~120cm (Throw-Yo Standard) or ~150cm (Extra Long) length when ordering the following strings types:

  • Tinctures
  • Serums
  • Vapors
  • Teas
  • Elixirs
  • Inks

Note: There is an additional fee for longer strings

Longer strings are not available for Nectars, Emulsions, or Ropes.

It may look like a normal Serum, but it’s a bit different. Almost as if a certain catalyst changed it.

It’s a bit…unstable. Not quite as soft as a Serum, and a bit bouncy. Kind of reminds me of a Throw-Yo string that existed once upon a time.

Maybe it’ll be called an Unstable Serum.

Maybe it’ll get some kind of throwback name.

Either way. It’s a lot more fun than that stuff old string was.

Have you ever done a string prescription for someone who wants to buy but has no clue what to try?

I have! I also have 2 different sampler packs:

  • Performance Sampler: Ink, Elixir, Detergent
  • Comfort Sampler: Vapor, Tea, Serum

What’s your play style, and what do you look for in a string.

I play 99% responsive, mostly 0A, but occasionally will throw a counter weight on. Or I’ll grab my FH1 and play responsive 1A. But 0A is the priority.

I usually play on a Butterfly, but a Weekender or a Harbinger is usually close at hand, the most important thing to me is a reliable response that comes when gently called every time.

I don’t know how to describe different levels of response but I usually describe it as, ‘the instant I think it, it needs to come back’

#2 priority is not coming off my finger (I don’t like double slips)

#3 is accessibility, if I find something PERFECT, I like to gently trust it will be around

Frame of reference, for my usual set up. Current mold Butterfly with OTS Fat and a little Portland bee balm on the loop. I also like this combo with kitty fat, but those strings don’t last long against a starburst and become pretty inconsistent very quickly

Sorry for the word vomit in advanced! :victory_hand: And I won’t be offended if you tell me to get a sampler because I’m too damn picky :joy:

If you’re playing fixed-axle of any kind, you want Normal thickness Nectar strings. They’re a cotton/poly blend, and fantastic for fixed-axle play!

For bearing 0a play, I’d say Normal thickness Vapors or Elixirs. I use both on my slimmed Workhorse, and feel they play the best.

Of course, I’d love for others to give their input here as well!

PRL Tinctures have been replaced with Pale PRL Tinctures in the shop.

In other news, a bunch of strings have gone out to various yo-yo brands to see if they want to include Throw-Yo strings in a future offering of theirs!

Also, new Tincture colors are coming as soon as I place a new thread order. Just waiting on a few customs to pan out before I get that in.
