The new year is coming up and what better way to celebrate than a contest! This contest is different though, as it will be a game show exclusive to the forums! This game show will be designed to push the level of your creativity, stamina, trivia, and complete understanding the of most randomest things in this world. What will it be called? It will be titled : “The Yo-yo Journey” and it will be shown in episodes on youtube for the entire forum to watch.
What do you have to do to enter?
Qualifications:
-You must be part of the Yoyoexpert forums
-You must have a video camera
-You must be a yo-yoer
These qualifications are to ensure that every contestant has an equal chance. To enter, either PM a quick link of, or pm me for my email and attach, an audition video of yourself displaying your personality, one throw, and explaining why you should be entered. I’m only gonna accept about 6 or eight contestants and these choices will be purely decided on your personality compatibility with the other contestants.
Now on to the gamplay:
Each episode will contain a different challenge that’s based on yo-yoing (maybe something else for a surprise).
Contestants will receive a PM what the challenge is about and will get 2 weeks to send a video of them completing the challenge via email attachment. Details on how the video should be will vary through each challenge.
Videos will be put in raw into the game show episode in a fair way. For example, if it is a race then a multi split screen will show displaying all players starting at the same time.
Elimination will be determined on the challenge.
Each challenge will have one winner that can’t be voted off during the episode.
All challenges will be pre-approved by the contestants so that no contestant will be at a disadvantage.
Now after reading the rules, I’m pretty sure you guys are wondering what’s the point in all this? Well, Yoyoexpert has offered a prize of a $25 Gift Certificate to the winner of the game show if this show has a good solid interest. Auditions start now and please leave a response at the bottom to let me know if there is a solid interest or else this thing will go down without a prize.

Seriously? You need a Youtube account? Come on! There are some people who would LOVE to be in this contest, but have no youtube account. Isn’t that a bit unfair? Plus, why can’t you be sponsored or have been offered to be sponsored? I know that you want this contest to be fair, but there are still really good yoyoers that aren’t sponsored. Also, if everything was “fair” in the WYYC or any other yoyo contest, wouldn’t you be discriminating against people in YYF, Hspin, OD, YYJ, or any other team?Other than all this, I think your yoyo contest idea is great, you just need to make some changes.
I’ve made some changes to the rules. thanks for the discrimination thing. Didn’t realize that too. I’d always assumed that usually people with a video camera will have a youtube account eventually.
On the issue of the prize is that in the past, there have been several contests with a sponsor from someone other than the host. This contest is just asking for a sponsor, and if you read the rules, even without a prize this thing will still go on without a prize. The most important goal is having the bragging rights of this.
I’m sorry if you’ve been offended by anything I put this game show up so I can offer another form of contest to the forum. This is meant to be fun and as a person with a cynical view towards human motivation I believed that a prize was needed to coax more interest.
