The Ti-Vayder Experience

Threw a boss rage in mine. It’s nice. Also gave it a terrible paintjob that I love.

Excited to get a message that my USPS order with my vayders was getting closer to my house today, I then however got a email saying that it was being held at the postal Depot because there was tax to be paid on the parcel. This is to be expected, being in the UK, anything outside of Europe coming in gets an import tax, not ideal but I knew this was coming.

Got home from work and in my letter box was a postage deliver slip saying that I had to pay £55 in tax! Needless to say I was not amused.

Can we make it a rule that when we ship yoyos overseas, we declare the value of the yoyo as low as possible? Can this be done @codinghorror for all future Vayder purchases outside of USA?

I did like the yoyo though.

I’ve let Noona know about that, sorry – not sure how that is normally handled!

I’m curious to learn how that £55 figure was calculated/determined.

Is YYSL selling the TiVayder string pack here on YYE?

Welp, here ya go

no, as a retailer it is 100% illegal to lie about the sale price paid for your product. All exported goods out of the US are subject to potential tax/customs and vat, this is a standard thing, probably you should put a disclaimer on your website, something like this

When a package is shipped internationally, it may be subject to import taxes, customs duties, and/or fees imposed by the destination country. These charges will typically be due once the shipped goods arrive at the country of destination. This may result in you having to pay additional charges which are not included in the total price displayed at checkout.

As the threshold for the application of such charges may vary from country to country, please contact your local customs/ tax office for further information. Alternatively, you should check with your local tax advisor for more information.

I’m asking if we can mark it “gift” or not…

no, you cannot sorry

So… there you have it. (Cue Beatles song “Taxman”)

TIL I didn’t break international trade laws

Are you considered a ‘retailer’ for the Vayder? Could you have finagled it in a way that you’re seen as a non-profit?

Whenever I ship overseas on the customs form I put ‘toy - yoyo. Value: $5’. I once shipped a nickel 54 to a guy in the Ukraine (and put the price he paid for it on the form) and between customs fees and apparently a bribe to the customs officer, it cost him an extra $110ish USD.

Not creepy. I get that from time to time.

I love simply Mike reviews!

I think it’s more the distributor wanting to be completely above board. Not sure what the penalties would be for not doing so but if it were my company I wouldn’t want to risk anything.

Really fun review! I do want to say though that the “mostly” blue yoyo shown at 3:01 isn’t a Skywalker. It’s a Moonwalker I believe.

How many are left for sale?

Your videos borderline on ASMR at times. Very chill to listen to.
