The secret to winning a yoyo contest in the modern day and age

Not sure how this thread was hijacked to be about owners competing against each other at Worlds…

Should this be a new thread? like: Should there be an owners division at World’s next year?

Anyway, I am not clear on why this competition would be important - or even interesting? I would guess that not all owners of yoyo companies are yoyo players. So, what would it mean for that company if they had no one able to compete with the owners of the other companies? I am pretty sure that is why manufacturers have teams. The owners are just that: owners. What is achieved by seeing them compete against each other?

And what would you do with Andre? Is YYE a yoyo company?.. What about other websites and blogs?

The thread naturally evolved into talking about adding a portion for a contest between owners.

The purpose would be to provide entertainment and bragging rights and having fun. It wouldn’t be mandatory. These contests are about having fun, although they are competing to win. Why not break out a bit from the more pressure-based competition and just have a portion where it’s just about fun for the sake of fun, right?

I’m not sure how this would apple to Andre. They’ve been talking about owners of companies who make yoyos. But, I guess store owners could be added into the mix. I think this would be best dealt with by a small committee who could come up with a workable set of guidelines.

I wonder if landon balk actually competes, cause i love his throws, though i have only used them, never owned one. I love the feel of 3yo3’s.

The fifth secret to winning a yoyo contest is to take off your clothes midway through your performance.

EZ World Champion

(please don’t take this seriously, you need to be good too)

No need for special divisions!

Kentaro won 3a, Kengo 2nd eyyc open, I got 6th at us nationals last year In 2a and 5th in 98 worlds in 1a…

We can already beat most people :-p

'Course, you gotta be built like JD to be able to pull it off successfully.

Too bad there are a handful of ‘big’ yoyoers and very few of us are built like JD =[
