I definitely think powder coating has it’s place in the industry, but I don’t care for the texture of the coat generally. I agree that the shiny clear coats look really nice though.

“Generally” is a well placed term. There are exceptional alternatives to the standard issue powders.
When I wear a glove I find that powder coated throws grind pretty well. And I sort of like the “grippy” feel when I don’t wear a glove. I can run the yoyo up my arm and off my elbow like a ramp. So for me, powder coating is a nice way to revive a beat throw (especially when Bob does it ) and it has a versatility in the way it plays if you try using a glove.
I like when a yoyo is polished and the sand job is actually finished. I do NOT like when people half-anus the job and you just got a Genesis with 400-grit sandpaper’d rims.
I guess everybody will start polishing their DV888’s again.
