The Official, not Official Boingy Boing Hate Club ( HALP)

Ao, boingy boing. One year ago when I started yoyoing, i wanted to be able to boing boing. I pulled out my new benchmark V and was like ehhh thisll be cake. That was a year ago!! An entire year!! This teick ia devilishly simple. Im going to dedicate the next week to learnimg it so if you nees to vent about this teick, or have any tips tell us in the comments!

That trick is the Debbil Bobby!

There is a good tut by Mike Montgomery but I can’t find it at the moment.
I also still can’t do the stuupid trick, so don’t listen to me.

PS - If there is a club, I want a shirt.

Boingy Boing…the one trick I once deeply hated but now like. I showed my brother the trick and he got it in 5 minutes. I spent several months to get that rhythm. It was bad.

But now I can do it like a champ. Here’s a video of me doing it in slow motion, I hope this helps you find that rhythm and timing. You’ll notice I do an extra roll that actually sets me up nicely into a boingy boing.

And when you completed Boingy Boing, try this one out:

This trick is definitely harder than it looks. It took me a while to learn as well. Some tips are to do it really slowly and just move your hand up and down in a consistent slow-paced movement. Make sure the two strings you are “boinging” against are on the same plane, otherwise it won’t work. Wide yoyos help when you are just learning to make sure you hit the strings.

This is in my top 3 evilest tricks to learn that look easy but are not. 1)seasick
2)boingy boing
3)magic drop

Let me put it like this, if a saw a boingy boing in the water surrounded by sharks, I’d throw chum in the water. How do you even get it to move?!

It was never hard for me. I don’t know, just get a rhythmical up and down motion going.

Hadoq posted a video years back that I found very helpful.  It broke the trick down into pieces and exercises to get a feel for it a little at a time.

He’s a witch! Burn the witches!

You need to be able to control the yoyo tilt first before trying to get the timing right. Modern yoyos are too stable it seems to get many people to skip learning the tilting control, because one can just do tricks till the yoyo tilted far enough and then bind instead of nudging it back straight.
The problem is almost always; the yoyo turns or tilts and then it misses the string before you even do anything.
Practice front style combos with old plastics like FHZ, the tiltier the better, try to get it straight the whole time. Once you can do that, you can start learning the timing for boingy boing.
