The End Part II

Anyone know which Finales were available other than Orange (unclear if it’s the light or dark orange)? They must’ve gone instantly. I grabbed an Eetsit Prelude.

It seemed like orange was the only color available for the Finales - Elvin either sold the other colorways ahead of time, or the menu options were just still in the site code from the original release. I think the latter is probable. Kinda bummed that he only had Preludes in the Eetsit colorway, I love the Finale’s curvier rims and was hoping for one of those. BST it is.

If the Finales are the same color as the original run, they are a bit closer to yellow than orange. The Valencia Preludes are really nice and dark, and the It’s-It Preludes are a more neutral orange.

Grabbed a prelude from Doc earlier and grabbed a finale on this one. Anyone know how to tell the difference?

Prelude is 1mm wider and has rims that are slightly more angled. The Finale will also be lighter in color.

For those of you who didn’t see Elvin’s page about the release on the RSO website, it sounds like everything from this run was stripped and reanodized, which I’d imagine is why they’re slightly cheaper. The bearing post on my Prelude is fairly loose (which I really don’t mind), and I can see machining marks under the ano on the rims in the catch zone. One of my halves is ever-so-slightly off as far as its color - the orange is just a little flatter looking than the other half. It also vibes a little, as Elvin said they would on the site page. Not really on par with a typical RSO release, but still a great yoyo.

Thanks! Mine from doc pop has all the same characteristics as yours. Plays fantastic though! I just wanted to make sure I got one prelude and one finale which sounds like I should be good to go.

Yes! Put rso’s on it! You’re a true OG!

Ended up grabbing a Finale too, cause why not. Glad to know it’s a lighter shade than that Preludes Doc was selling as it’ll be nice to be able to tell them apart. I emailed Elvin and he couldn’t have been nicer and more accommodating.

FWIW, I don’t see any issues with the anno on my Prelude. I haven’t taken it apart so I can’t speak to issues with the bearing seat. Most of my throws have a bit of vibe so no complaints on that front either.

Man I love acid wash! I went back and grabbed an eetsit prelude because I loved the colorway.

but after all, there is also a proverb that says: “only fools never change their minds”… right?

forgive me, but sticking non-transparent pads on the engraved recesses I think is one of the stupidest things I’ve ever seen done in my life, not so much for the action itself but because to remove the glue from the recesses you have to work hard and there is a serious risk of ruining the laser engravings. these cups from now on will only see transparent silicones!

I have a The End Part II (prelude) on the way, I’m excited to throw it.

The End Pt. 2 is one of the best organics I’ve ever played.

Really glad more people are finally getting a chance to throw these. Literally my only complaint with it was that I wished they were cheaper and more readily available for more people to play. Looks like the B grade dump solved my complaint.

the end has always been cursed, doc pop made a comment about that in the oral history of the end and noted they did exactly that ( covered the engraving with opaque pads, lolz) , doc pop has strong feelings against concave bearings and guess what these come with… its hilarious to me anyway. also i recommend using a good solvent like goof off and a wood or plastic toothpick to clean up the glue without damaging the engravings.

I never paid attention to the bearing in mine or the pads, but definitely see what the two of you are saying. Been to busy grinding it on my arm (non yoyoers would definitely get a kick out of terminology.)

Guess it’s time to toss in a Onedrop bearing and silicone it. It truly is one of, if not my favorite organic throw as Mable said.

I bought a Prelude from DocPop and it was basically love at first throw. Ended up grabbing another prelude and a finale from RSO, and those arrived yesterday. Awesome yoyos.
