The best looking yo-yo ever!?

Follow up question…Where do you get those counterweights? Those are great enough to make me want to try 5a. I probably have the supplies to try make one (having hobbies is my hobby) but those look amazing and it would take time.

Edit: As I look at the picture, with the tools and all, you probably made them yourself.

For me it has always been the arctic circle and it’s later iterations. The shape always vibed with me and is now synonymous with a beautiful yo-yo. This is partly because it instills confidence with me since this shape is my most used and familiar yo-yo and I have all of the bip bop boys lined out.

Left to right: Arctic Circle, Arctic Circle 2, Kodiak, Manatee, Boy

Please explain that term.

Bip bops were CLYW colorways. Black bip bop or bbb was always sought after

Yeah. Black bip bop (bbb) is a highly sought after colorway. They also did grey bip bop (gbb) or confetti, which had the white base and the same splatter.

I feel you. HSpin made yoyos with amazing designs, especially in terms of laser engravings. I mean, just look at that!

Back to main topic. These two siblings below are amazing. Italians were always great in designing things, clothes, cars, yoyos, etc.

I think one of the best looking yo-yos ever…… is the Nostalgia Wire Wheel yo-yo from S-Kon.

Shinobu is a Master Machinist by trade. He also makes Samurai Swords of the highest quality.

He also builds race cars is just simply a Customizing Mastermind.

This guy ‘designs when he sleeps’ and builds things when he is awake.

His vision for the nostalgia stemmed from his Custom Hot Rod experience. He decided it would be a great challenge to literally make a miniaturized yo-yo from scratch. His intricate design actually incorporates ‘tiny adjustable spokes’ so the yo-yo can be ‘tuned as needed’ just like a motorcycle wheel.

I think several things factor in to ‘best looking’. First, the yo-yo is beautiful to look at. Second, it is a Masterpiece in design and execution. Lastly, it is not just a pretty paperweight.

PS… if you ever have a chance to visit Shinobu…. Be agreeable. No matter when you think you know about yo-yo making, do not argue with this guy. He plays with Swords and before they move to the ‘completed stage’ he’s gotta test them on something😂

PS… I started lacing my own Harley Chopper wheels over 50 years ago because I am very particular about every aspect of smooth running bikes. I guess knowing what I know about ‘truing things up’ helped make the Nostalgia an instant Winner to me.

I have simpler tastes and a preference towards earlier CLYW’s. Pulled these from the shelves and was already chucking the powder coat Galactic Goose.

Man this is a hard question lol  I can’t really pick a favorite looking yoyo because they all look good  Clear w rainbow rims is one of my fave’s but if I had to pick ONE colorway then it would go to Evan nagao’s signature black w silver fade. (Probably because I’m an Edge fanboy )

I normally tend to like simple colorways and fades so this definitely nails it. When Evan releases a new throw I’m always on the hunt for this specific color.

Man that’s another hard question  but my favorite Edge is definitely the Edge 2022

It’s fast, light, powerful, and does everything I want it to do !!! If I had a signature yoyo this would be it, It checks all the boxes for me in what yo-yo can do. I tend to like lighter yo-yos a bit more but with a good amount of power and stability to it and the Edge 2022 has that exact feeling.

I really like the Edge beyond and ultimatum as well but the Edge beyond is a little to clunky for me because of the huge SS rims so I tend to pick up the Edge 2022 more often.

The ultimatum is also really good but it’s just a little bit wider than my liking. I really like wide yo-yos but the ultimatum just barely crosses that barrier for me when it comes to really wide throws. I do like the light feeling of it though but I wish it had just a bit more of a solid feeling to it imo.

And that’s where the Edge 2022 comes in !!! It’s very comfortable to hold and it doesn’t feel heavy or clunky at all, the weight is perfect :ok_hand:t2: and the width is nice and wide enough for me to hit risky tricks and is exceptionally good for horizontal. It sits right in between the two other Edges !!!

(Honorable mention also goes to the Edge FS. It absolutely SLAYS and it’s by far one of the best mono metal throws I’ve ever used.)

And that’s the end of my (long :smirk:) write up !!! The Edge 2022 is my FAVORITE yoyo in my entire collection and I HIGHLY recommend that you get to try one out sometime
