Mostly want to start this topic since the original was my favorite game and would love to talk about it (or even the extended Elder Scrolls lore).
Edit: Fwiw, I played a few hours, and then spent another couple more designing a new computer (via PCPartpicker) to play on ultra (even though it still looks phenomenal on Medium; despite the fact that I just built my current computer 2 years ago. However, Oblivion is what got me into building computers, so it seems fitting to continue the tradition of upgrading for Oblivion)
This remaster is basically the book on how to do a remaster. You can tell that this was a labor of love. If anything, the devs just wanted to make a better game for themselves and we just happen to also be beneficiaries as a byproduct. It may be a cashgrab, but this was anything but low effort. Not only are visual upgraded, but they enhanced some gameplay as well, such as
Enemies react when hit
Flora disappears when picked
You slow down as you walk up a hill
Stamina actually has a slight impact
Leveling up (I have not gotten a chance to see if they tweaked level scaling)
My dude, all expansion packs and DLCs are included in the remaster PLUS even more stuff with the deluxe edition (no expansions tho, just cosmetics and, you guessed it, more horse armor).
No, not at all I have a terrible habit of being really excited for a game. Buying it, downloading it. And realizing I’m too old and have responsibilities
Fwiw, Shivering Isle gives Morrowind. IIRC, the devs heard the complaints that Cyrodiil was a bit lackluster in color (being full on fantasy feel), took that to heart and tried to make Sheo’s Plane as colorful and alien as possible; a complete antithesis to Cyrodiil.
Personally, I’d play Oblivion just to play the Shivering Isle DLC
This is why I stopped buying games and started buying yo-yos lol, easier to bring a yoyo with you to play with for a bit than a whole switch or whatever. Also video games take full concentration where as I can talk and YoYo, or just be chillin with company
