what teaching techniques would you use to teach a beginner in yoyo. what about teaching more advanced yoyoers?

I like this, I’m currently trying to keep a 9yo nephew interested in throwing, but man it’s challenging when he has a hard time just catching the yoyo when it comes back up. Definitely seems to be losing interest pretty quick

A lot of stuff can be taught without the yo-yo actually sleeping.
