Suicide. Acceptable or Cheating?

Alright so yesterday i had some godly inspiration to learn the yo-yo tricks that i could not do. I would try Plastic whip, Wrist Whip, Laceration and Suicides before, but quickly get frustrated…Until yesterday. I learned them all fairly easily, but i have a question about Suicides. When i whip it around, i catch my suicides on my thumb…
Is this Cheating or an alternate way to do suicides?

In a sport ladder it would be a missed trick, but in a freestyle it works.

Not sure… If you throw it with your thumb and catch it with your thumb, I think it counts… Because for the suicides in a row record it has to be thrown and caught on the same finger each time

That is correct. I just assumed he threw it with his index finger.

20 - Suicide Catch
2 reps. Throw a trapeze mount, let the yo-yo swing under the Throwhand and pull your Freehand index finger out of the wrap and let the string segments loop over your Throwhand. As the loop comes over the Throwhand poke your Freehand index finger back into the loop. At this point you should be back in a trapeze hold completing one rep. Perform a second rep back to a trapeze hold. Perform any dismount and return the yo-yo to your hand by the method of your choice.

in ladder, i’d count it as a miss unless you didn’t have an index finger.

as far as trick composition goes, as long as it’s what you INTEND to do, it’s fine. but if you CAN’T do consistent suicides on your index finger, then you should really work on that.
