Anyone ever have their most cherished, loved yoyo develop a throbbing vibe? Yesterday morning I noticed my One Drop Top Deck had developed this. It has always played pretty much dead smooth and it still plays awesome but this low level throbbing it developed disturbs me. It took no recent hits. I switched the axle with another Top Deck, switched bearings, cleaned the bearing seat, changed string. No positive result. It still plays like a killer but the throbbing vibe is distressing. I’ve had vibe disappear in other yoyos and I’m hoping that happens with this Top Deck.
Something happened. I have no idea what that something is.
I had a beautiful yoyo from a great brand that had minimal vibe.
One day I unscrewed it, and after I put it back together it developed pulse vibe. It made me giddy just to look at it. There was no discernible reason for the change. I was hoping to screw it back and it would just go away, like it came.
I keep it in my work cargo shorts left pocket with my phone but it’s a very loose pocket. No pressure on the yoyo since my phone is deep down and Top Deck is on a holster higher up. Occasionally I have to unscrew it due to a bad knot but I am pretty careful. I have a Duncan Windrunner that was dead smooth the developed a throbbing vibe and then it went away and has been dead smooth for a year. It was smooth one evening and vibey the next morning with no unscrewing taking place during the mysterious time period. The throbbing vibe may go away. It’s the yoyo I baby the most. I have 2 barely used back-up Top Decks in a case because I’m scared they may stop making Top Decks one day!
