I couldn’t believe it, it was fine. I didn’t even know it happened until she saw me playing with it and said, “is that yoyo ok, I pulled it out of the washer today.”
I’m cleaning the bearing just to be sure, but it didn’t so much as rattle or hiss.

I assume it was in the pocket of clothing when washed, which afforded some basic nick and ding protection?
I would DEFINITELY clean and lube the bearing at this point though. That should be mandatory.

For sure. I’m letting the lighter fluid dry off the bearing now, and it was in my jacket pocket. Not a single nick or ding.
I might buy another one of these. Fantastic yoyo.

This has me thinking that most of my yoyos are pretty dirty. I haven’t sent any of them through the wash yet.
