As far as spoilers go these are pretty tame so far lol. I mentioned how addicting it is being able to order a prototype of literally anything I want from a machine shop no matter how weird or outlandish it is
I got some weirder stuff in the pipeline after these.
Shops open again for FAF. Thanks for your patience while I dealt with some health stuff. You can find me an under Return Bottoms on the google.
Might be my Google algorithm or however it works but if anyone has trouble finding it under the search query return bottoms, if you search “return bottoms yoyo” it’ll be at the top ![]()
Ahh yes thank you. I used to be the first result but I’m guessing shutting the shop down for a month affected results.
Ahh yep google yanked most of my indexes when I went maintenance mode. It’s gonna take time to get it re-indexed for better searching.
Out of renders and into the real world. Photos from the shop.
Demons Fun - Blasted matte titanium
Tardy - in that Tardis blue
Pocket Watch v2 - electropolished brass ![]()
So quick! I love them! But I’ve learned slimlines can’t handle me
Okay, fine, I can’t handle slimlines, but now you’re just being pedantic
That blue came out amazing!
I don’t have these in hand to say for certain how they will play but the v1 pocket watch despite being incredible thin and tiny played just nothing like its size and thinness at all. The stalls it could make were unreasonable for it’s proportions.
1000% can confirm this. It was kind of magical actually how good it was at stalls and pinpointing itself right to the string.
These are looking absolutely awesome. What are the dimensions like? I have a RCS Mobile Gamer and it never quite clicked with me but I love smaller profile yo-yo.
The ti and aluminum versions are 17 mm wide, 55 mm diameter.
The brass is 13 mm wide 38 mm diameter.
Bad news, good news on the caramels.
The axles are too vulnerable and are breaking when the yoyo strikes pavement or other hard surfaces.
Due to the high cost to make them, the shop has volunteered to cut them all in half, drill them out and install helicoil threading to turn them into take apart fixies with an aluminum axle and response pad recess. So there will be another delay here.
At this rate one of the metal bearing yo-yos may end up dropping first, we will see.
Man those first protos are starting to feel like unicorns hahaha
aw this is what i was afraid of. rip! if theres a pad recess though whats the point of the holes?
Holes are just a cool factor
Well I can’t undo the holes lol. They are already there. I just don’t think the holes will be enough with a smooth aluminum which is why I’m asking the to cut a pad recess.
I love the pad recess idea, can always take the pad out if too snappy
Can we stick an ultem bearing blank in these?
No, to maximize strength the aluminum spacer is going to be threaded and screw in, and is a lot wider than a bearing, so that it sits deeper in the Ultem than a bearing seat.
