Sickburn Yo-Yo Workshop Ultem Fixie

I heated one of the trash grades up and it did not soften. So it is probably just internal stresses and not counterfeit, although I did snap one in half with my hands which was pretty funny.

Got the Ultem No Jive sleeve and Ultem 3/4 C size blank in the mail, along with a No Jive and Deepest State.

I have never been a fan of the No Jive, but when I saw that @AudreySickburn made some sleeves I figured I’d try again. The No Jive I got from a trade elsewhere on the forum with a cool dude, it had a fair amount of vibe which I likely could have tuned down some, but I figured I’d just toss in the Ultem sleeve and see what happens.

As advertised, it significantly reduced the vibe, no lie. That alone was worth the cost of admission. I didn’t double loop the string, I just put a well worn Skyline III on it, did a UFO and stretched it, rinsing and repeating a few times. Responds just right for me. I also threw some hard sleepers to stress test. Can confirm, Ultem is the real deal, this will last a lifetime.

The Deepest State with the 3/4 Ultem C is great. I prefer it for 0A play compared to the stock. The stock isn’t really meant for strict 0A though, so that’s not a jab at the stock Onedrop bearing. Have not tried a grease bucket, but if it plays anything like the Ultem blank, then it’s definitely a winner.

Well done on these.

Here is the Every Day Caramel v4 diagram. Order is in with Rapid Direct for 55 units (reduced from 100 due to cost increases). They are gonna make a couple and do some testing before they run the lot.

Merry Prototype Day!

Holy cow, these are so delightfully unhinged! I’m in love. They are just absolutely unnecessary in the best possible way.

Weighing in at 53.8 grams is the RIP. It’s so tiny! The machining is beautiful on it.

The real question is, does it stall?

Yes!

it’s not the easiest stall in the world but it’s also the size of a freaking jacket button. You could sew it into your clothes for an emergency yoyo.

And the Pocket Watch! weighing 54.5 including the string. Snappy as heck MR85, stalls like a champ, still really f’ing tiny.

Oh my god that’s crazy! I thought they were gonna be normal sizes lol. I guess the brass is too heavy for that? Really excited for the Pocket Watch! ^^

Yeah brass is significantly heavier than aluminum. Like a lot heavier. In order to be normal size, it would have to be so thin that it would crumple like a soda can on the first ding.

The Pocket Watch is called that because it’s designed to fit into that tiny fifth pocket on a pair of jeans.

I do not the Jeans. They hurrrt.

I was thinking they’d be a good fit for a breast pocket… just like a pocket watch haha.

I don’t wear jeans either  even though I made a yoyo to fit in them. It should easily fit in a breast pocket too though.

Next you’ve gotta put a little chain on it haha

I really dig this '“yoyo as a button” idea. Need one for my jacket now:

These are too small for me but they are nonetheless just sheer artwork.

How’s the vibe and the overall machining quality like on those?
