Sickburn Yo-Yo Workshop Ultem Fixie

I pulled this using googles lens (and the characters are still off some) but I believe what minerJ said seems to be the explanation.

“The text “过切” is superimposed on the image, which translates to “overcut” or “excessive cutting.”

I am glad they didn’t just send those to you as production models, and hopefully they sell them to you as b grades rather than scrapping them.

I would buy a bruised caramel lol

Yeah if I can get a good deal I’ll buy them as b grades for sure. I feel a little bad because 49 of these scrapped is so much money in material haha, this stuff ain’t cheap, but also it sounds like they need to slow down and it’s the shops fault for the scrap and not my fault.

I’ll call the b grades melted caramels or something.

Thank you for the additional context! Super helpful, I’m learning so much about machining stuff lately which is fun.

I’m partial to Sugar Daddy’s. It’s a Caramel Sucker that doesn’t suck, which is what I can only assume the b grades will also not suck

Jkjk, just glad the Caramel became a reality

The good news is the no jive axles and 3/4 specs already shipped way ahead of schedule! One less tariff headache.

I’m also prototyping a couple of different tiny brass weirdyos with the shop that did the delrin blanks and they committed to handling tariffs on whatever I make through them on the next projects.

Two brass prototypes in the works.

One is… like a duccling and a plasm had a tiny brass baby. It will be a one piece fixie. It will be weird. All the American and Mexican machine shops either shot me down saying it was impossible to machine or ghosted me. I found a shop in china happy to make it.

The second is a small thin mr85 bearing brass yoyo. Like a 0a focused mobile gamer kinda, but not really.

I am excited for the ultem fixie but these brass guys sound super cool

Thanks to the folks who helped me recover the info about RSO pads from their defunct website I was able to get their shore rating and am having Rapid Direct (my new machine shop) make 10,000 RSO style MR85 pads. It’s entirely too many pads. It’s an outrageous insane amount of pads. It’s certifiable. But by Grabthar’s hammer, what a bargain.

So yeah I’ll have some extra pads on hand probably lol.

That’s… quite a few pads

I almost thought you said 10,000 pairs lmfao

Well 5000 pairs, 10k total lol. I’m going to be swimming in them. But the price is good, so I’m gonna do it.

The shop was flabbergasted and asked if that many people still play with yo-yos in the USA and I was like no not really lol. My shop is hella curious about yo-yos and gonna go visit FPM now though.

Gonna Scrooge McDuck off into a vault of response pads!!!

Yeah don’t get me wrong, still a comical amount of pads lol, but that’s awesome about them getting into it!

I think there have been single digit yoyo models made for MR85. Thats a huuge buy for something so rare :sob::sweat_smile:
