This sits on my desk at work, and makes it very difficult to get any work done on certain days.

Are the flocked ones actually playable and good, or is it just a novelty?
I, personally, have to put them in the novelty category. I can only imagine that the flocked thing looks nice, when it remains clean and new. I do not believe it will stand up to a lot of wear and tear. I state that, because I bought them for my collection, so they will remain nice to look at.
But, it can be perceived as playable and good to others too, so long as they don’t get preoccupied with keeping them looking nice. If you disregard how they look, and you don’t care about them getting worn or dirty, I think it’s as playable as a lot of others. It will not grind well though, and weird to snap start with the fur. I lean toward novelty, for that reason.
