But as soon as it hit the string, expectations flipped. The SETI isn’t just a quirky novelty—it’s a solid, fun yo-yo with Rain City’s signature LEGO-compatible hub, letting you customize the weight and look with your favorite pieces.
This yo-yo’s unusual design delivers a unique, evenly weighted feel that’s both approachable and endlessly entertaining. And here’s the twist—when tapped, the SETI sings! Its satellite-dish-inspired body rings like a bell in an Eb pitch, a happy accident discovered during testing. Whether it’s spinning on the string or creating impromptu melodies, the SETI is full of surprises.
Rain City leaned into the extraterrestrial theme with engravings that bring the fun: Melody to the Stars, Bovine Abductions, and Mars Attacks! Originally envisioned as “The Cereal Bowl,” Waylon Crase nailed the final name, perfectly capturing the yo-yo’s space-age vibe.
