Hi Neil,

I feel like my question might already be answered with the death adder, but I haven’t tried it yet.

I have a puff adder, and I have to say, I think it’s the perfect shape, specifically the finger spin cup. Are there any plans to make this full size, maybe 56 diameter or so?

Yep the new Death Adder v2 is pretty much the same shape, but bimetal and with a 56mm diameter and 43.35mm width.

Hi and yes the death adder is a full size bimetal version of the puff adder.

I’m going to wait until I play it more to give final thoughts but:

My initial impression is very positive so far. I threw it for a little bit without a counterweight first and I might actually end up loving this thing for 1A. It’s a good bit narrower than I usually go for but it’s incredibly fast and stable and changes directions very easily. One review I watched said it feels ā€œsofterā€ than typical rim weight bimetals and that is on point. The rim weight’s function is noticeable in spin time/stability but doesn’t feel like a huge weight on the string like many rim bimetals do.

With a counterweight on I’m definitely no longer worried about it being too light feeling for my preferences, it’s not too far off from what the ~66g Gulch feels like but I wouldn’t mind like .3-4 grams thrown on. But that would take away from the special 1A feel it has. I’m going to reserve final judgement until i play with it enough to have my timing adjust to a different yo-yo, as I literally have only been throwing my Gulches for 5A for at least a month.

I’m just afraid of scuffing up the beautiful ano.

Also the packaging is fantastic.

Update: I stand by everything I said in regards to 1A earlier today but after spending more time with it for 5A I think the weight is absolutely fine. It was just a slight adjustment period. If they aren’t sold out by the time I get around to it I’ll probably get a second one.

Like I’ve said before I don’t usually like most of my 1A throws for 5A and I have a very particular feel in mind for freehand. This definitely fits the bill.

I know you’ve said you don’t like to do new runs of already released designs, but for my own selfish reasons of wanting one of these in the Planet Namek color way I think you should consider it. I’ll probably get a second one regardless.

Apart from that, which other yo-yo in your line up would you say feels most like this in play? And I don’t mean in regards to specs, just how it actually feels moving around doing tricks.

Also once I find a brand I like I tend to keep an eye on their stuff so you’ve probably got me for another few yo-yos at some point lol.

Havent tried either yet, but the death adder is a bimetal puff adder, so thats probably a good place to start

@ReticNeil you should make everything in this colorway forever

As for this - my EDC is the Puff Adder. It’s basically a Death Adder, but it’s a little bit smaller, and it’s monometal. Hits all the boxes for me for a throw to carry around day to day, and when I’m in the safety of my carpeted home, I bust out my Death Adder now.
Edit: the B-grades are pretty cheap too and they play great (my Puff Adder is a B grade one I got off the BST, not sure what was wrong with it to be B grade lol)

Yeah I was running through the other yo-yos specs and shape and that’s probably the best bet for me. Maybe we’ll see another batch of Alien Galaxy or even some Planet Nameks or Sadalas.

I would do things…unforgivable things…to get some Puff Adders in the Planet Namek colorway lol
