THE Yonami Code

The Rain City Skills Yonami Code is a triple signature yoyo. Ashley Thompson, Bailey Main, and Jake Leach are three of their best “Have fun learning yoyo” representatives. They work hard to engage the community, encourage others and generally make yoyo great for everyone. It all started with a very fun idea.

Rain City tasked them with designing the yoyo they wished they’d had when they got hooked on yoyo! The result is the Yonami Code. Named so as a reference to their hugely successful “Gamer”, a slimline yoyo that is really challenging to hit modern yoyo tricks on.

The Yonami Code makes everything easy. We opted for a modified “H” design for maximum stability while trying to figure out that next trick. They targeted weight distribution for top performance, making this the ONLY yoyo you need. (“Want” is another matter). The cup features their Lego compatible hub, perfect for adding a light up brick or finger spin plate. That said, it fingerspins beautifully on its own, perfect for the TikTok generation who are all about the DNA!

Each colourway references a popular game, as well as calling back to similar colourways of the gamer. Their custom box stands out from the crowd. It’s designed to look like an old-style video game with a professional design. They even included the appearance of a bunch of video game Codes scribbled on the bottom!

Each Box includes - The Yonami Code set up with a Full-C Groove bearing - A half-C bearing to switch the yoyo to responsive for beginners - The Yonami Code sticker with a few others, as well as some of their collectable Pogs - a couple string - A maple candy!

OK so I’m not big into gaming but I really wanna know which games the colorways represent! I’m gonna guess:
Gold/teal fade = Final Fantasy
Black w/orange and blue splash = Mass Effect
Orange/red/blue = Mario Brothers
Silver = I have no clue whatsoever. Pong?

Silver = “Game Over”. I don’t see the fade listed, but the others are on the RCS IG account.

Gold/teal fade = Animal Crossing
Black w/orange and blue splash = Contra
Orange/red/blue = Game Genie
Silver = Game Over
