Which of the two do you play more, and why?
I’m trying to split time with each as much as I can, however I can’t help reaching for the Uppercut more. I enjoy both, but the Uppercut just feels better for me.
Thanks for the reply. Of all the mystery boxes I’ve purchased, and there are many, there are only two that I think were better. The first was a box from Yoyofactory in which I won a TiShutter. The second was the box with the Pragma in it, because I also won the Turntable 2 in that box (and that box was still almost edged out by this one). Great job all around on this box, hopefully the upcoming mystery boxes stay this good.
Curious on reactions to Eric’s new KA-POW string in the zip bag.
I’ve been keeping an eye out for the same
one of my friends got the box and said the string was “kinda super good”
I usually do not use stock string but I tried the KAPOW string and it is really good.
Waitting until the drop at YYE
I’m really enjoying it and it seems to last well, it has that Goldilocks thickness, holds tension really well, doesn’t get fuzzy too fast, good weight for slacks and whips. It’s your best string yet! I’m looking forward to buying more, when’s it going to be available?
My KO was the black/white fade and my uppercut is gold splash on blue. They look really nice, and I’m really happy with them. The KO is very close in dimension to @YoYoExpertEric’s old yyj signature New Breed, almost the same shape but modernized and given more catch zone. The uppercut just feels great, fun and performance. Both of mine are super smooth. I’m really enjoying both.
Thank you so much for the kind words! It means the world to me
This is such a hard choice for me because I love ALL different types of throws and feel like each yo-yo I play with has its own unique feeling while playing. It is very fun for me to bounce back and forth between the two because it gives you a different type of feeling regardless of what tricks you are doing if that makes any sense?
Also if you follow the contest scene at all, I have been known to use many many different models at each competition because I love the variety! I can’t just choose one! LOL!!!
Even thought the KO is a bi-metal, it feels very floaty while playing, and it feels amazing in the hand and comfortable thanks to the organic shape, along with very smooth binds. It literally glides on the string when I perform my moves.
The Uppercut is a lot more nimble. I love how it catches the binds. Its like you don’t even have to try which is amazing itself. The shape is not too wide, yet not to narrow which makes it super easy to maneuver through string segments/doing more technical moves!
Of course the Ka-Pow! string is the perfect compliment for both of these yo-yos. It is similar to Plutonium but feels a little bit thicker and also grabs the binds quite nicely but also not being to grabby at the same time. It is THE perfect string being in-between Ammo and Plutonium, almost like a ‘thicker version’ of Venom.
Hmmmm, thanks for explaining Ka-Pow! string, a thicker version of plutonium and venom… Hmmm idk…
I personally think it is the best string in the entire universe!
But honestly I am in love with this new formula. Both Venom and Ka-Pow! are both great in there own way!!
Did anyone ever post the big mystery box??
I wanna know what it contained! Maybe it went overseas.
I think they discussed the contents on one of the FB live videos for the May sale. I don’t remember everything they listed, unfortunately.
So… it’s been a couple weeks since this mystery box released. How is everyone enjoying the two throws? Personally, I can’t stop reaching for the Uppercut, it is so well crafted to everything I look for in a yoyo.
I throw them both at least once a day just to get used to them. While I enjoy them both and the KA-POW string they came with that are still on them, this string in the somewhat narrower gaps really puts a spotlight on the need to clean up my act. So rather than switch strings I will leave them on to use as a gauge to track my improvement or lack thereof.
Yeah - we are just getting ready for the official release!
Uppercut has continued to be a main throw for me - I especially still love learning new tricks on it!
I’m all about the KO, love it. Really like the Uppercut, but I Love the KO.
