I know but if i get none i wont giveaway the yoyos

you dont want people subscribing JUST because your giving away yoyos

yeah i know maybe some people will check out my other videos but most of my subscribers dont watch my other videos so i dont really care

maybe because almost all your subscribers just want free yoyos. if you want to really get a lot of subs fast i would recommend really trying to get better at yoyo so you can teach better tutorials and give more experienced yoyoers something to watch. also getting good at editing helps

ok but if i want to get good that will take like years im the slowest a learning tricks i might just post random shorts because it will take years until i get noticed by very good yoyoers. there are a lot of people that have no idea what a yoyo is that would have a better chance of actually watching my content

idk tho but i agree i should make content thats actuall good instead of giving away free yoyos

I also might just stop posting videos until i get ig or something becaue its so annoying becaue the comments are constantly getting disabled @yoyothomas

depends on what ur creating content for, like what purpose. are you trying to go big enough to make a living at it? that takes a certain level of dedication and discipline. are you trying to get sponsored? thats a different mindset with different goals. are you just having fun and hoping others will come along for the ride? thats its own mindset too.

all that is to say, figure out exactly what your goal is first. then you can chart a clear path to your goal.

also, i think other thomas offers sage advice when he says you dont want subs just for giveaways. eventually you will run out of yoyos and they will leave too. you want ppl with genuine interest im what you’re doing because they’ll be the ones to stick with you and cheer you on. youre an awesome yoyo player dude. keep doing your thing :v::vulcan_salute::call_me_hand:

This is the hard truth, I would listen to what Thomas said because he is 200% right.

Giveaway are usually for people that already has ton of followers and usually is not even to make more followers but to give something to the community in general.

I would say that you can do all the videos you want but do not “beg” for any subscription or complain for not a lot of view, sadly is the way of the content creator, you cannot start and think everybody will follow you immediately, you have to “demonstrate” something (if you want to get results).

Create an identity as first thing, something that people can recognise you for, get good at editing and filming, nowadays we are used to very good quality videos, pursue a goal that has to be achieved with some time, open an instagram account (I think is so much better than youtube nowadays) and than again as Thomas said get very good at yoyo, you do not need world champ level but you need a very good level and some original and innovative stuff, even if you do videos for people that are noobs or not in the yoyo world, those videos must look great, full of info and also full of flashy tricks with great editing.

What I can say is to do not give up, time is on your side and you require a lot of it, my first live show it was in front of 3 people, at the end of my career it was in front of more than 1000 people, it took years to go there and is a normal path for everyone.

Same is happening for the yoyo, I started a bit less than 2 years ago posting videos on Instagram and it takes time to build an account, I am trying to find what I like to do and what people would like to see, is a middle way but be sure is gonna happen if you believe in it and practice a lot!

I was a content creator in a different industry for a long time. A lot of the advice given here is absolutely correct. There’s a lot of “best” practices out there for getting your content seen more places, getting more engagement, etc…, but in all honesty, being honest, finding your niche, creating great content, and interacting with your community are the best ways to grow a solid following.

Remember, it’s not just about how many subs or likes you get, but how engaged your audience is.

When I was building teams of Twitch influencers, I would take someone with 500 subs with a super active community they engaged with over someone with 5000 subs with a garbage audience who just talked at the camera.

Only facts spoken in this reply!

Keep in mind that I understand you’re both young and inexperienced, so I hope you take the advice from everyone in this thread in the right way, as we’re all here to help. <3

I am a pretty big content creator in the Balisong flipping scene, especially on Instagram (@blade.wielding.queen). The main reason I was well known was because of my community interactions, positive influence and educational content. I ended up with sponsors, connections and really good friends who were also insanely good flippers.

Generally speaking, if I went into the hobby making content in the way that you are currently, I would have gone nowhere. The biggest thing I learned from that account/community was that you always need to have an idea on what you want from your content creation. You need a clear direction, but also a clear drive/passion to do so.

If you want to create a community, then you’d need to foster the environment for that community to grow. If you want to create educational content, then you need to be educated first. If you want to be sponsored or known as a really talented thrower/flipper, then you’d need to practice and grind to get there, etc.

Using giveaways to gain quick subs that don’t actually pay attention to your content is an easy way to put yourself into a rut insanely quickly. While having giveaways for certain milestones is a great way to help boost your subs and interactions, it won’t create any lasting effect. I never did any giveaways in the Balisong community, which is why I can confirm all of the above.

I hope all the insight here has helped you understand the way of content creation a little more, and I hope to see you grow/reshape the way you make videos if you continue!

Just got to find a niche like will it blend or microwave or cutting a yoyo or something. Angelo got the Godspeed thing, Bella dna with multiples, will it YoYo’s has been fun from Nicole. Idk if you’re dead set on making interesting content you have to find something interesting to show off.

(Please note I am in no way advocating microwaving or blending yo-yos to a minor) At least wait till your an adult

I thoroughly agree with the idea here! If you want to focus on purely entertaining content, that’s absolutely fine too, you just need to find your niche and style of content. It will take some time but if you brainstorm and experiment you’ll likely find your niche eventually. <3

And uh yeah, I agree, please don’t microwave or blend any yo-yos. LMAO

I’ll also note if you’re only doing it for clout and recognition then you will burn out quick.

Lowering expectations is a good idea. If I get 10 whole likes on a thing I posted from folks I like in the community then it was a nice post. Don’t dwell on numbers

that happens to me to
