i dont have any mineral spirits paint thinner, and i was wondering would it be possible to use paint stripper with the same effect?
Are you looking to strip paint? What are you going to use it for?

Ummm, to be honest, I’m not sure. I would assume that if its free of water it should be ok but don’t quote me on that. To be safe, I would just use mineral spirits.
Most paint strippers I know of are not the equivalent of mineral spirits or any other paint thinner. They generally are chemically caustic, containing lye and other nasty stuff, and will cause metal to oxidize (rust).
