experimenting around with this confusion. seems like everywhere is out of the yyf orange thick small bearing pads. anyone know an alternative? the white ones dont stick up past the response area like the oranges

and here i disliked the protruding pads and ripped them out to silicone it. I dont have an answer for getting the protruding pads but i went with flush pads and shrank the gap instead.

Aside from flowing your own, you might try 2 white pads stacked. It’s not an ideal solution but it could possibly work, that is if you can get the white pads.

i would recommend flowed clear silicone, its way softer than pads and gives really consistent response in all my modern repsonsive throws with thick lube.

yea I’m starting to feel less experimental. I’m starting to think imma leave it the way you had it for now and get experimental later if i get to feeling froggy, but for now i just wanna play it. i dont wanna do something that’s gonna mess up a good thing

Non-standard pads like that are hard to find for me, if you can’t find an alternative i’ve found that ultra grey silicone does wonders

Permatex silicone is good and just know that ultra grey is specifically very unresponsive and you might want a grippier response like the flowable clear silicone. Flowable is also easier to apply bc it self levels.

I have looked all over for the thick orange pads and they are just nowhere to be found. The red small Duncan stickers work. What I’m unsure of is how the thickness compares. I think they are in between the whites and the oranges but I’m not exactly sure on that.

so despite my impulse to publicly out this community’s kindness every time someone shows it, i try to be careful of saying things that will create a situation for someone where they get innundated with subsequent favor requests from others. so i will just say that an amazing member of our community msgd me and was making a trip to yyf brick and mortar and was able to score a couple unlisted oranges for me
