I got a new mini-motu today from the shop here. And for the first hour or so of play, it was amazing, then the bearing started to slow rapidly with every throw, and it has gone from the best yo yo I’ve ever used to the worst. It hasn’t been exposed to a dirty environment, nor can I see any dirt or damage on the bearing or anywhere in the casing. It all looks flawless, but is no longer functioning properly. What has gone wrong?
Maybe you should shoot Andre an email about it.

or perhaps the bearing needs to be cleaned, I know some bearings come dry so maybe the mini motu was one of those, and playing it dry for awhile might have worn down the balls a bit causing a slow down, I would say shoot andre’ an email and try cleaning the bearing in the meantime, hopefully you can solve this problem.
Try opening the yo-yo and spinning the bearing with your finger. Does it spin freely or does it feel stuck or anything?
Sometimes hair or string can get caught around it causing it to slow down too so check around there.
This can be a normal part of the ‘break in’ process of the bearing. Many times a bearing as it smoothens out inside will hit a rough patch.
The more you use the smoother the balls inside actually become so to get through the rough patch the best thing to do would be to continue to play with it.
