My sprout bearing is already bad. Grinding need advice on new bearings

I just got my sprout but there seems to be something wrong with my bearing. It’s got a little bit of a wobble in the bearing itself, but the bearing is grinding. It’s definitely not smooth nor does it spin like it should. I’m only getting maybe 20 second sleeps if that.

So my question is what kind of bearings is everybody using? Cuz I need a bearing. I had an extra that was a vip bearing from a different yo-yo but I’d like to buy the best I can get

How do you deal with bearings?

After trying acetone and a couple other ones, I now use dawn dish soap with hot water. I put the bearing on the end of a paintbrush handle, scrub the soap in, spin it in the water until it feels like nothing is stuck in there, then dry. I use a Datavac to blow dry them but you could use compressed air, and I used to put them in a towel and spin them around to dry them with centrifugal force. Air dry works too, just don’t put them away or in a yoyo until they’re fully dry. You can put a little b…

I mean I’ll give it a try. It’s a brand new bearing though so I don’t know why it would be acting up already. But could just be something wrong with it. It does have a little bit of wobble the bearing itself. I put a new one in it and it spins great now. But I’d like to find the best bearings I can get cuz I’ll buy more for my other yoyos

A question on Bearings

Hi all, I have a quick question. Bearings! When one buys a new throw online from, it doesn’t matter but let’s say a new “Japan technology” or a new “offset”. Where does these different manufacturers get their bearings?! I mean do they all make their own or do they buy ones online and put them in their various models they sell so we’re unaware. May seem a weird question but I’m drying to know. Thanks In advance.

Like, almost every single new bearing I’ve ever gotten gets loud and crunchy and screams. I think they have manufacturing stuff on them. They USUALLY clean up nice and spin forever. Occasionally a bearing is totally shot though.

This; unfortunately, is a sad lesson that all throwers eventually learn. All bearings are mass produced and many more fail than what should be acceptable. But that is yelling to the wind.

It’s really common, the amount of dust in bearing seats of new yoyos can be crazy.

when you get a new yoyo, run a qtip around in the bearing seat. It usually comes out black in my experience.

I’ll try to clean it when I get home and see what happens but if not, I don’t care personally. I’ll take any advice on new bearings. Whatever you guys are using. I don’t mind buying if there’s better bearings than what comes with yoyos. I’m okay with buying some so whatever you guys suggest I’ll look into.

There’s got to be higher quality bearings than what comes standard with a yo-yo. Somebody out there has to make pretty slick bearings because it’s like a skateboard. You know you got abec 3. Abec 5. You know abec 9. Abec 11 and I can tell you different brands are better than others
