Online YoYo Contest! - Scales Open Online Volume 4

Hello everyone! Colin Beckford here. I’m happy to announce that Scales Collective will be hosting our FOURTH online freestyle video contest next month on May 16-17 - this is Scales Open Volume 4!

If you are not familiar with Scales Open, it is an opportunity for players all over the world to participate in a stress free competition in which they get to film their freestyle and have it be judged and critiqued by the Scales crew on our Youtube live cast - this experience is rare as pretty much all yo-yo contests do not provide feedback to players beyond results, and players often struggle to hit their tricks when they are on stage.

We will be hosting Amateur and Pro divisions - if you are new to competition we recommend you do Amateur, and if you are looking to see how you stack up against some of the best, consider Pro! We also have a sick Contest T-Shirt:

Registration available here (THANK YOU YOYOEXPERT!) - https://shop.yoyoexpert.com/products/scales-open-vol-4-may-2020

Rules and freestyle submission are available on the Scales site -

Facebook event here -

If you have any questions about this contest, let me know by replying to this post!

New video release at 1pm on the Scales channel. Tune in close to premiere to chat with me on behalf of Scales!

Yesss.

The scoring has changed since last time and the evals give more points than the tricks, so just focus on musicality and choreography and you will be fine

When are you guys going to be excepting trick submissions for the next live?

For amateur it’s 40/60 and Pro prelims it’s 70/30 and pro finals it’s 50/50.
Edit: had the numbers wrong. Rules above.

@ColinBecko do you know when scales vol 5 will be? I might just practice and hold off until vol 5 if I don’t have enough practice
