Why did my link to the Free Solo on OD’s site get shadow removed? I didn’t think it was against the rules, since it was just info on the throw on OD’s site in the “OD official news” thread and NOT a link to a sales/store page to buy it.

The Free Solo is listed as a November 2020 release on the OD website. Today is the last day for that to remain true. Will it go up for sale today or will it get re-tagged as a December 2020 release?

Since there’s a possibility of it being in one of the mystery boxes, they may be counting that as the initial release.

Maybe they’re calling it November 2020 since they technically sold some (at least one) in the mystery boxes they had on Friday.

How does it feel in play? Is it similar to any of your other OD throws?

It’s kind of hard to describe, lighter playing than I was thinking, almost floaty, and if I had to pick the closest OD I have that it plays similar to, it’d be the Summit, which makes sense I guess. It’s very fun, very responsive to movement, easy to catch. If you like the Summit I think you’ll enjoy this one.

So you would describe it as more center-weighted than rim-weighted?

I think that’s a good way to describe it, doesn’t feel rim-weighty so mid/center weight is probably the right words.

Summit seems to be slightly rounder, slightly wider, and weighs slightly more. There’s also that slight difference in feel 6061 has compared to 7075

Perhaps you should compare specs to the 7 summits since it’s the same metal? Isn’t ligher?

Wow! Guess I didn’t realize 7 Summits was that much lighter than the OG. Doesn’t seem that way to me in play. Looks like the Free Solo is the middle way as the Buddha would say…

I was surprised too! I had it in my mind that 7075 was denser than 6061 so I was expecting it to weigh more, not nearly three and a half grams less!
